All of them are about the same $$$ for when we are planning our trip in Oct. BW is about $50. cheaper. So which one is best? Which is closest? They all look right next to each other on the map. I can't wait to make my reservation!
Thanks!!

We returned from a stay at The Camelot 2 weeks ago. I was very pleased with the room and the location. I can't speak about the other two but I would stay there again in a heartbeat.:thumbsup2

I have stayed at BWPPI a lot of times and it is the closest off-site hotel to the park entrance. If you don't care about the pool, this is a good place to stay during your visit. It is not that fancy, but if you care about a short walk to the park and back this is the hotel to stay at. I can't say for the other two hotels since I have never stayed at those two, but I have heard they are good hotels and are next to each other on Harbor Blvd.

how far is the walk from camelot to the disneyland turnstiles?

The Camelot is about a 7-8 minute walk to the turnstiles.

I've stayed at Camelot and wasn't impressed at all. I'd stay there again, but only if BWPPI and Park Vue Inn (the two closest) were full. Tropicana is right next to BWPPI and managed by the same company as Camelot, but I liked Tropicana much more if you'd want to look into that hotel as well.

BWPPI is the closest, then Carousel and then camelot but they are very close together, Camelot would only be a minute further than BWPPI...

All include breakfast, Camelot has the better pool of the three and good views of the fireworks from the 4th floor rooms... Carousel has a good view of the fireworks from the breakfast room or the pool on the roof.

Carousel has good size rooms..

BWPPI is my go to hotel. I always have great service there and it is super close. DH would actually rather stay there than PPH because occasionally we'll hit Denny's after an 8pm park closing and the walk from Denny's to PPH is LONG. BWPPI is awesome though!

I've not stayed at the other 2 hotels you mentioned, but I have stayed at BWPPI & loved being able to just cross the street & be in the Park...especially at the end of the day  . Besides the closeness, the room I stayed in was clean & comfortable and the staff was very helpful.

Having missed out on booking our preferred (closest) hotels, we are staying at the Carousel in May. It is *marginally closer* than the Camelot. Looks like maybe one or two doors down. We're paying $8 more to get the slightly closer hotel and TTMM. (Gotta go take myself off the wish list!)

We stayed at the BWPPI and really liked the close walk. The hotel room was fine, but we don't care about having a fancy room. The proximity can't be beat. We stayed in the DLH in June and I would stay in BWPPI again over that just for the walk. The breakfast was enough to get something in our stomachs before heading to the park first thing. I haven't stayed at the others but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the BWPPI based on our experience.

Is the pool really awful at BWPII? Or just boring?

Just boring is fine b/c a pool is a novelty for my kids.... if we have time to use it at all.

Sorry for the minor hijack.

The pool isn't awful at all...it's just not very atmospheric  By that I mean that it's a heated pool, which is nice, and there's a hot tub, which is REALLY nice :thumbsup2 but it's nothing fancy, just a medium-sized rectangular pool with a couple of trees and some lounge chairs by it. It's not a destination in & of itsself like, say, the Neverland pool at the Disneyland Hotel...but it's not a scary dirty cold pool, either (like a couple of places in the area I've experienced).

We just got back and stayed at the BWPPI. It really is close. Very close. So convenient to go back and forth. Almost like 'hotel hopping' - lol!

The good: so close to the park entrance, HUGE rooms (if you get the Mini Suites), great wireless internet access (free and fast), and the rooms were cheap and clean.

The bad: noisy (paper thin walls, extremely noisy outside with other guests running up and down the walkways, or rolling their luggage to check in/out, noisy old pipes), bad TV reception and very few channels, hated the blankets and bedspreads on the bed (they were rough and uncomfortable),

The 'okay': staff (they were kinda helpful, sometimes, but seemed young and indifferent - esp. when compared to another affordable hotel I stayed at nearby), beds and pillows were adequate, pool was adequate - but I'd hate to be here in the summer when it's hot.

I have to give a thumbs-up to the hotel maids. They were very responsive when I needed help getting more towels, sheets and pillowcases when my daughter was sick. I gave them a nice tip at the end of our trip.

I think next time I am going to splurge and stay at the Disneyland Hotel. I liked the location of that hotel (being so close to Downtown Disney). I made a lot of trips to DTD and hated having to wait in line and go through security twice just to take a walk there and go shopping!
