So I was pretty excited when Jetblue announced that they would be flying nonstop from BWI to MCO starting November 12, 2015. I checked it out and saw they offered decent times that ran to February 10, 2016. So this week they released the flights/fares into early May and while the Jetblue website was a mess for many days, I just couldn't find any nonstop flights out of BWI. I wondered did they end this service before it even began? So I wrote to Jetblue with the hope of finding out what was going on. I got a response.
They said the non-stop flights would be seasonal and at this time after February 10th, there won't be any. While this didn't make me happy, I did think of those folks who may have booked their flight down in February with the hopes of booking their return flight once the new schedule opened. Boy are they in for a shock.
So for me, I guess it's back to United out of Dulles, or the 2 hour trek into Reagan/DCA to catch Jetblue. But since both United and Jetblue charge for luggage, I'll probably suck it up and fly United. My excitement of flying nonstop out of BWI to Mco on Jetblue has been stomped out. Just thought I would post this for my fellow Wash, DC area flyers, who like me, was excited to have this option out of BWI.
