BW bus frustration

This is why I will never stay at any of those resorts ever again. First off the Swan and Dolphin are NOT disney resorts so I don't see why we who are paying deluxe resorts rates have to share a bus with them and deal with the overstuffed busses. Sorry they need their own bus they don't pay anywhere near what we pay for our rooms and I don't think its fair. NO I don't care how snotty that sounds. Each resort needs their own bus from that area I really hated waiting for a bus than having to stand when it finally got there. I will never stay there again.:headache:

The S/D both pay for the use of those buses. It would make little to no sense to run buses to just the S/D without stopping at the other Epcot resorts.

Now....during busy times of day (park openings and closings) the bus route for BW includes the S/D...only. Midday, the bus can also stop at the YC/BC as well. Why? There is simply little need to run two different routes due to the time of day and the number of guests needing service.

You know...it gets tiring to hear everyone complain incessently about the bus service at BW. Truly, it really isn't any worse there than at the Polynesian or GF. Really. I routinely stay at BW...I own DVC there. Yes, the buses could be improved upon. But, the system is simply not as bad as some of you make it out to be. Bus service to DTD is miserable from ALL the resorts.

All the buses for the various resorts make several stops before heading to the park. STaying at POR? Well, be prepared for 4 stops, as well as one at POFQ. CBR? Same thing..multiple bus stops within the confines of the resort. And believe me...it adds up to about the same time on the bus as when you ride from BW. POP is the only resort that has no other stops once you board the bus. You get on at POP and you go to your destination...period.

Disney does a great job of moving thousands of people around their property pretty efficiently every day. Those who choose not to use the buses can use either cabs or rent a car. No one method is going to be 100% perfect.

BTW...BW is not always the last stop. I have gotten on the bus plenty of times, at BW, when the bus was empty. Then it usually headed to the Swan and then to the Dolphin. It was a good day if the bus didn't head to YC/BC.

(Truly tasteless and off topic)
Why not continue on down Buena Vista Drive and go into the Boardwalk entrance first? Gives Disney's resort guests first dibs on seats in the shared bus. As well as a longer run to change lanes in.

Ph.D. in transportation engineering needed. A light that is known for getting stuck needs to be fixed promptly. Temporarily it can be set to give a few seconds to the stuck street on a recurring basis anyway using a process called "recall". To keep the system from interrupting the main flow and serving the stuck street too often, the main street should have a minimum of say 30 seconds. Does Disney have any strings to pull to dismiss traffic violations done by its own drivers on its own roads?
Remember, I'm speaking only for myself as a powerless WDW bus driver, not for Disney.

Management does not share with us why the routes are set up as they are. My statements are based on my observations and deductions. But buses from MK stopping at BW first also are supposed to take the left turn rather than the cloverleaf, while buses to DHS use the cloverleaf. BW and DHS are right across the street from one another, but one's a left turn at Epcot Resorts Blvd, and the other a right turn.

As for the lights, believe me, no one would like to see this fixed more than us drivers. But I'm not even sure who is responsible -- probably either Reedy Creek Improvement District or Orange County. I have reported problems with lights to the people I'm supposed to report to, but even something so simple as a burnt out element has stayed burnt out for days.

At the risk of repeating what's been posted by what seem to be people in the know, every resort on WDW property decides what level of service they want to pay for and that's what they contract the DTS to deliver. That being the case, it would seem that you should contact the resort and not the DTS. BTW, the bus stops at the MP, PI, & TL read that all the Epcot Resorts are serviced by a single bus. I'm sure they do split them up as needed, but it's not the standard route.

I don't think the resort manager can do anything about crowded buses. I had an issue with a BW bus on my last trip and from speaking to the resort manager she told me I had to take it up with transportation.

Actually, resort management does have more say in the level of service to a resort than does trasportation management. You'd probably have a better chance of making a difference by complaining to the resort about overcrowding or inefficient routes.
Thank you, thank you - I knew I know what I'm talking about! :rotfl:! Seriously, in fairness - I know this from discussions with Transportation Managers (if only I could find that stupid little Tracfone  with the numbers stored in it) and OKW Front Desk Supervisors.

and the last time I waited 40 minutes in line thinking I'd be on the next bus only to be "cut" by a wheelchair person and his party of 10 at the last minute (wheelchair person looked quite frail while the rest of the party hopped on the bus and seated themselves in the back and nowhere near "grandpa").
See, THIS is an issue I would definitely bring to the attention of my resort's management. The limit is supposed to be the wheelchair Guest and up to five members of their party. Remaining members should be directed by the bus driver to the regular line.

Not addressing VAN, who's given up on the buses ;) but other Guests who observe similar incidents should note information like bus number, driver's name if possible, time, location... and bring to the attention of your resort's management. They can't work on problems if nobody lets them know there's a problem. If nobody says anything, it seems as if nobody minds.
