Okay so maybe Hydro Guy or Albort or someone knows the answer here. How do they rank the people on the rides? Like last year my husband got a high score and got ranked 73 I think. But how often do they reset and start over or do they just keep it going? Someone said that would be 73rd ranking for that day.

Heck if it is by the day I am going first thing in the morning to show husband I can get ranked too!:rotfl: Okay well I wouldn't feel too good about that one but I was curious.

Oh yeah we have the picture too, but I can't post because it says my post count is too low? When can I post pics??

I believe they reset it daily. Here is my highest score and I was ranked pretty good but, it was early in the day so I'm sure that I got bumped real quick.

I believe this is the way it works:

My experience has been that they reset the score rankings every day and your ranking is your position among all riders so far that day. Your ranking will only appear on your picture if it is the top 100 or so I think.

If you do select your picture, and your ranking is in the top 10, you will be prompted for your initials for the overhead board. The default initials (for those that don't select their pix or enter their initials) is LGM ("Little Green Men") It's certainly much easier to have a high ranking early in the day. My DS and I held 8 of the top 10 during EE one morning when we rode it over and over again; we kept booting each other off the number 1& 2 rankings. Within an hour or so, we no longer had positions on the overhead board, but we did get our pixs with the high ranking numbers showing. If you get a ranking late in the day, you're awesome!

(PS Claribella, 665,000 is pretty darn good IMO, especially if you don't know where the special targets are, or don't get stopped at a prime spot)

Thanks, but in all fairness, I do know where the special targets are. But have only once been stopped and that was in the dark tunnel before the end Zorg.

My husband got his ranking around 5ish. So where are the special targets and what do you mean by get stopped? We will keep this between us, He get a real high score and I want to beat him. HEHEHE

Can you please tell me where the special targets are too. I promise I won't tell anyone else.

I did a search and found some secret spots but most of them are for the one at WDW are they the smae ride?

Ok, you guys have to tell me. How the heck do you get so good? My best is 130,000 and I thought I did alright till I saw some more scores. Tips? Tactics?

DP: Is the Teacup ride always lit up at night like that? I was there for the
50th and DO NOT recall the lights in your pic! Very festive!

I dont know if this is fact or not, I just found it online:

Replying to Susan about my Astro Blaster’s score, I made a list of tips/secrets for the ride. Let me know if you have any more!

1) Just keep shooting, every 5 "misses" or so, you get some "pity points". It's so kids don't get a score of 0 even if they didn't hit anything. You'll know you've hit something if the back of your gun flashes white.

2) Aim for these shapes (in order from highest to lowest points): diamond, triangle, square, circle. Targets that are lit up give you more points. Aim for the tiny black hole in the center of the target.

3) There is a hidden target (at least at Disneyland) actually on the Zerg character, in the center of his armor. It's a tiny black hole.

4) There is another hidden target in the dark tunnel.. you'll see one on your left, and one on your right.. but look up! It's worth 100k!

Actually, triangles are worth the most--10,000 points. Diamonds are 5,000. Squares are 1,000 and circles are 100. If the neon around them is lit up, then bonus points are scored, up to the next point level, so triangles are 50,000, diamond 10,000 squares 5,000 and circles 1000.

None of the tunnel targets are worth 100,000 (I've hit all 4--there's one on each wall and 2 on the ceiling). No target is worth that. Sometimes the hidden ones on Zurg have some bonus attached (and each Zurg animatronic has one) and they'll end up worth 100,000.

Just in case you're wondering, one of my friends works Buzz on a regular basis, so I definetely have the inside scoop. And my usual score is anywhere from 600,000 to 900,000 depending on how many bonus points are available and how cooperative that first Zurg is in turning with my vehicle.
