Buying multiple tickets for more fastpasses

One day, you may see annual passholders renting out their magic bands to give other guests extra FP+ selections. For sure, if enough folks are willing to pay $23 per fastpass. That's $69 for three fastpasses. not too shabby.

Is it possible to purchase more than one ticket per person for the purpose of obtaining more FP's? (i.e., scan and enter with one ticket, exit, and scan and enter with a 2nd ticket).

We always did this with legacy FP's and it worked great. I'm assuming we can do the same with FP+, just curious if there are any nuances we should be aware of.

Well, Disney will be very disappointed in my reaction. We spend less on food and merchandise, due to the decrease in quality and choice, plus price increases. We visit less, dine mostly in our room and are ditching hoppers. We still have our. DVC, but Universal is appealing. We can also exchange for another timeshare destination.

Yes - the trick right now is having every ticket associated with a person on the room reservation so you can pre-book the FP+.

A party of two could do this easily. Just pretend to be a party of 4, and give two fictitious names for the fictitious people. Buy all "4" people tickets and off you go.

If you are already a party of 3 or more, you will have a problem. You will also need another room to pre-book unless Disney changes this limitation.

You would also have to pay the extra adult charges for the room as you would have to buy adult tickets to do this, unless you are staying in a family suite or certain villas. So assuming at least $20 extra per night for a value, up to $50 extra per night for a deluxe.

Not true. Adult charges apply for 18+ guests, but guests who are under 18 and not a Disney child (juniors) still use adult tickets but don't trigger extra adult charges.

I think it would be great if lots of people did this. Really! Think about it. If enough people swiped 2 bands instead of 1 for admission, the parks would be less crowded during peak times because the computer would think the park was at capacity.

I have no idea how the technology functions, but maybe when you scan your finger entering the second time, the system will "think" you are already in the park because you had to scan to get in the first time, and won't let you in. Just a guess… I know that the system doesn't record your actual fingerprint, but rather a collection of identifying points, so it's possible that someone else would have your same finger-scan ID, but what are the odds of them being in the same park, on the same day, as you?

With finger scans, that currently occur at the turnstile but not the ride itself, someone should NOT be able to use your ticket. So for instance, Mrs. AP Holder has already scanned one of her fingers. Someone else should not be able to enter with Mrs. AP Holder's ticket. However, if Mrs. AP Holder enters the park and hands her band to Mr. ETicket Ride Lover because Mrs. AP Holder hates the Tower of Terror and RnR and you couldn't pay her to go on them, then you really could get anyone who is in the park and doesn't want to use a fastpass+ to loan you their band. I can see it now...on the Disboards, instead of a photopass share, they'll be fastpass+ shares matching up people with extra fastpasses with people who want more.

I think that Disney is eventually going to the tiered system where moderates and deluxes will get more fastpasses. I also see how they could easily sell extra fastpasses for those willing to pay for them, but keep your receipt I can see the glitches already.

The plan seems expensive to me personally, but I don't get free dining with DVC, so if you add free dining into the mix, those 2 phantom teens make more sense. Of course, there was one 15 month period where I visited 7 times..so my attitude was if I didn't catch a certain ride on any trip, I'd do it later. If you're not going to be visiting very often, the cost may be worth it. I don't see any financially compelling reason for Disney to stop you.

I don't think it's going to be very long before Disney puts together a tier system with resorts and FP+. Value gets 3, Mod gets 4, Deluxe gets 5 and maybe concierge gets 6.

I don't see this happening at all. Disney may decide to let Deluxe hotel guests PURCHASE 5 addition FPs, Moderate 4, Value 3. But just GIVE them away when many people are happy to pay deluxe prices with just 3 FPs? Not gonna happen.

In fact I don't get the need to ride any ride more than once or twice in a trip. I mean I have my limits on stand by but gee whiz is it that necessary to ride RRC multiple times a day?!

We were able to ride TSMM a few times a day under the old system (EMH RD, Pull FP, Ride, Re-ride). Chasing high scores is fun but not sure how you would do that if you only rode it once or twice per trip.

And I don't see them linking this to resorts at all. Disney has never linked park experience with resort levels. Just as Hopper Passes and No Expire Passes and Private Tour Guides and Keys to the Kingdom Tours and EMH are not allocated only to Deluxe guests, if WDW introduces an Uber-FP+ Pass, it will be available for purchase to all (on site guests). Off site? Who knows.

Not if they meet up inside the park, and the passholders just hand off their bands to the renters. Renters use the fastpasses, then meet up with the passholders to return the bands.

People have said you don't need to use the other ticket to get into the park for the FPs to work from someone else's band. Not sure how true this is, but thought I would throw it in there.

The OP wouldn't have 'someone else's band' though, and the ticket would have to be linked through MDE (and thus become coded to that person's account) to get the FP+ on the band. Not seeing any benefit in this.

Unless the OP is planning on using phantom guests to get bands through Disney, he/she will only be able to book the FP+ onsite at a kiosk, right? Is that extra bit of hassle worth it? If any changes need to be made, then it's back to the kiosk, etc.

I have been thinking about the free dining scenario - consider the costs/savings for a couple staying in a moderate resort.

The cost to upgrade a meal plan from DDP to DxDP = $46.28/night/person

Now, having twice the number of DDP credits isn't exactly the same as having the DxDP, but it is pretty close. A party of two, with 4xDDP would have 4 snacks, 4 QS and 4 TS meals/day to share. They could easily meet their dining needs with that many credits - even if they like to splurge a few times/trip. And each member of the couple would also have 6 FP+ each day instead of 3. All for about $36/day/person.

So, eat anywhere that you want and double your FP+ reservations for the cost of an extra ticket per person. Pretty sweet deal.

I have seen so many people lament that the DP's aren't a good deal for them because they come with way more food than they would ever eat. Why on earth would someone want more credits when the credits that come with a DP is enough to give an elephant a gut ache anyway?

Disney would probably love someone buying/using 2 tickets for one day.

When FP-'s were around, someone could do the same thing to get more FP-'s.

Disney didn't do anything about it.
