My apologies if this has been asked a million times already!

Can you buy advance park tickets (with park hopper etc.) at the Canadian Disney stores? Is there an advantage to it? And forgive my ignorance but can we, for the sake of budgeting, buy our tickets one person at a time over the period if a few months? For example, can we buy mine in April, Dd #1's in June, Dd#2's in August for our September trip?

I'm thinking of 6 day's with park hopper (we already bookeded our Pop room with one day base for each). Should we just by base tickets at the store and add the park hopper option to the whole 7 days when we get there?

Thanks for your indulgence in a relative newbies questions!! :flower3:

HI there
You can buy 3, 5 or 7 day ticket alone or with park hopper and water park options at the Disney stores. No expiry option is available I believe with these tickets. We are going later in Jan and was going to buy the tickets online from the website as we wanted only 4 days but after I figured in the taxes(we pay 6% florida tax), exchange rate and interested on my cc I bought the 5 day pass at the local Disney store. The rates I am pretty sure go up on Jan 1 so this information might all change but I doubt it. The passes are plastic so buying them over time is no problem.

If you are buying only 1 day tickets with your package, and then buying additional tickets elsewhere to save some money (and I would do the same!), then I suggest you forget about The Disney Store and buy your tickets from undercover tourist instead. I looked at the prices from TDS and bought ours from undercover tourist, through the mousesavers link. We saved alot of money. I believe they still have free shipping, so there will be no disadvantage to buying your tickets one at a time.

If you are looking at a 6 day park hopper - you can only get those directly from Disney. As the OP said, you can get 3, 5 or 7 day passes at the Disney Stores in Canada. We usually get the 6 day so order directly from the Disneyworld website. The passes don't expire until 14 days after first use, so yes you can buy them over time (unless you purchase the no expiration option then unused days never expire).

If you already have the base ticket with your reservation at the Pop you can also have the concierge desk add the days to your room key at the time of your arrival.

We buy our passes from the Disney store, you can buy 3, 5 or 7 day passes and they usually keep them in stock.

As soon as I know we are going to Disney, I start buying 1 or 2 passes at a time, it's easier on the wallet this way.

There is very little price difference (less than $10) between the 5 and 7 day passes, I usually buy the 7 and if we don't use all they days, you can make them non expiry while at WDW, you can do this at guest relations.

I'm wondering now if there really would be an advantage for me to do that. Since we already have the one day tickets booked, adding 5 or 6 days prepaid tickets would actually make it quite a bit more then the 6 or 7 days straight from the resort (know what I mean or am I making any sense at all?)

When we get to POP and buy the other 6 days would we get the 7 day rate?

When we called to book POP we didn't know enough to insist on room only rate and on the advice of the CM booked one day each. Hubby needs less tickets then the girls and I as he's going to a convention so we couldn't book the full package. The CM said that if we booked it with the one day that if they came out with the free dining again we could just call and apply the code to what we have. Would the easiest be just to wait until we get there and just set the money aside?

I think I'm over researching! :surfweb: Just as I think I get it figured out I confuse myself again!!! Oh well, it will all be worth it......:woohoo:

Thanks again!

If you already paid for 1 day tickets, it will be more expensive to buy another 6 or 7 day pass. You are best to upgrade the 1 day tickets you already have once you get to the parks or call CRO.

Another option is to cancel the 1 day park pass and just book a room only rate and buy your tickets separately. However, you would then not qualify if the free dining is offered.

If I remember correctly I did the math before our past trip and it wasn't worth it. I think it was close but still more expensive through the Disney Store. That could be different now depending on what the exchange rate was at when the Disney Store purchased their tickets. To top it off it was much easier for us just to stick with our original package rather than buying a 1 day ticket and then loading up on tix from somewhere else. JMHO....

It is more expensive to buy another separate 6 day ticket on top of your 1 day ticket. You will be paying for the hefty 1 day ticket twice!!! Buy what you need for your trip. Since your husband will need less number of days, you will just upgrade everyone's ticket when you check in. If you know exactly how many days your husband needs for his ticket I would just book that for everyone and upgrade others later. At least his ticket will qualify for advance purchase discount. Disney will always let you upgrade!
