i really want it just to browse the internet...come on here - FB - check emails!

I want a long battery life as i hate having to plug it in!

I'm leaning towards the Asus 100SHA -PU17 - anyone have this model? or a model with a long battery life that u really like?

I have an ausu eee701 sd... right now the operating system is messed up and I have to reload it.. but That said so far it's been good, it's smaller than the one you are looking at. I bought a refurb for 100.00 so I am not upset at all about the small problems I have been having.

I am pretty happy with mine, I have had to call Customer service once and they were extremely helpful, even though I bought a refurb from a re seller. :hippie:

I have had an Acer Aspire One for about 5 months. I am really happy with it, so much so that my mom bought one and we bought one for our kids for Christmas.
My husband is an IT Director and he spent a long time looking into them and bought this and so far we are happy he did.
Whatever you go with, check out Tiger Direct, they have great prices.

This is what I have too! I thought it seemed slow when I initially purchased it over a year ago. Mine was a 1gb, so I installed a 2 gb card and now it works great!

It's tiny and I used a wireless mouse with it because my fingers are too big to type on the tiny keys.

It's great for travel and very portable!

Hi there, i have an asus 1000HE and i love it :cool1:...my battery can go forever...my keyboard is 92 % of a regular one and very easy to type on
I had a 15 inch dell that my son has now and it feels like a brick to me now..:rotfl2: I can do everything on my asus that i want, of course there is no dvd drive, which for me isnt an issue..i also upgraded to 2 gb ram and i can have many pages opened and it doesnt slow down at all....i dont think you will be disappointed at all...:thumbsup2

I have heard the Asus machines are excellent. We have 2 Acer Aspire Ones in our house, and they are both great too.

We have 3 Gateways in our house. Two of my boys have black ones and I have a pretty red. :) Love them! The reviews said the keyboards are 90% of a full size keyboard, so we compared it with my niece's aspire netbook and they are quite a bit bigger. We are extemely happy with them. :thumbsup2

Asus is the brand our school system has for classroom use for the kids. My girls love it.

Only one choice. Toshiba NB205. I did a fair amount of research and found it was the best choice. the faster processor (atom 1.67), better battery life (a true 9hrs although i have gotten 10+) it runs Win 7 well, runs a full version of MS Office Ultimate well, runs Firefox well. They only thing it does not do well is play HD video streaming off the web. You have to stream SD video. It comes with 1mb of memory (upgrade to 2mb - less then a $30 addition) and a 160gig hard drive. Built in wifi up to G. it is the size of a hard cover book and weighs a little less then 3lbs. It is a great machine built very solid and very capable. I have even taken it to work to be used as my work machine when i knew electricity was going to be an issue. It is a great choice. It comes in a couple colors but i went with the basic model which is black and does not have bluetooth. The higher models are less then $200 more come in color and have bluetooth build in.

My daughter used her Christmas money to buy the emachine netbook at walmart and it has been good. Most compare it to the Acer one. I think it was around 225 so it seemed to be a good value.
