Buying a brand new resort- BLT experience

We are on the BWV waiting list at $125 per point. We missed the $115 cut off. So, $150 per point for VGF would be tempting if it turns out to be that low. We started at $90.00 per point for a BLT resale that got gobbled up in ROFR. Every week that goes by I appear to find a new angle to spend even more money for points!

Although it makes no financial sense, the other thing that would be nice about VGF for our first purchase is for at least a year or two, it will be the price everyone else had to pay to buy the resort (due to no resale market at the start). Although we love BWV, it is hard to pay such a high price for an older resort. Again, no financial sense to that, but it does play a mental game on us!

First you need to see if you love the resort, view and rooms.

Then depending on how sales are going, DVD will play with the prices. You may pay a price and the next month, those buying may get a free cruise.

You also need to know that new resorts always have issues, construction/design issues and lack of CM training. When BLT opened we followed Bell Service around for 20 minutes looking for our room.

Very funny! What caught my eye is how separate the VGF are from the main hotel. BWV are nicely integrated into the full complex. If VGF lacks it's own coffee service, etc., it means a walk outside just to get our morning coffee (which is a ritual for us on our trips!). We always just chat with our coffee why our older kids are still sleeping in the morning. Funny, when they were small at Disney they always woke us up, now we wait for them to get up!
