Butterfly Farm Excursion

Has anyone done the Butterfly Farm excursion on St. Maarten? We are considering it but I'd like to get some feedback from someone who has actually done it. Aside from wondering how enjoyable the butterfly farm is, my husband wants to know if the bus is air-conditioned and I'd like to know how much time you get to spend in Marigot after the butterfly farm. Anyone here done it?

We really enjoyed our trip to the Butterfly farm. They do a little instruction session and then you can wander around at will. My husband had a big butterfly land on his chest and park there for several minutes. The bus was air conditioned. We got about 45 minutes to shop around Marigot. We hustled but we got all of our Christmas shopping for done for relatives. My husband felt like a pack mule. Make sure you shop for t-shirts on St. Martin. There are much more expensive on St. Thomas.

The Butterfly farm was very interesting! It was nice wandering around with the butterflys everywhere!
The Bus Ride... another story! It was really okay, just not quite what we expected. Our driver was either having a bad day or new at his job. We stopped in Marigot prior to arriving at the Butterfly Farm and only had about 30 minutes. He talked about the island the entire ride but if it seemed as though we weren't listening he would shout "HELLO", he must have done that about 20 times!
I would do the excursion again because I'm sure each driver is different!

Thanks luv2kids and Tiiiiggergirl, I think maybe we'll just rent a jeep and do the butterfly farm on our own. My husband prefers to do that and the kids really want to get a jeep. I want to have more than 30 minutes for shopping, too.

Hello everyone,
Just food for thought - a Butterfly museum is opening up in Key West within the next 2 months - I saw what is being done and what they will offer and it appears it is going to be a great experience especially for the children - will post more as I found out the progress on the new event.
