Day 2 - Part 2
This was going to be the big day the day we ventured to Magic Kingdom:
a place where the child in all of us is allowed to surface,
a place of dreams and fantasy,
a place you never want to leave.
The four of us were bubbling with excitement as we waited at the bus stop. We double-checked to see if we brought along everything we would need for our morning in the kingdom. The most important being our cameras, cards, confirmation number for CRT and of course the autograph books.
JoJo brought along her book that we bought her when she was only 9 months old. She wanted to continue with her old book and fill it up with signatures she missed out on. The night before Goofy and I went shopping at the resort for her book. Her original plan was to use 6 x 6 card stock (that I was supposed to print up and have ready but never got around to) but in the end she decided against it. Wonder why? Heh. I also purchased one of those large blue Mickey pens for signing with. JoJo had 3 or 4 sharpies tucked in her bag that I picked up long before our trip.
I never really thought that theyd take such an interest in the autographs. I figured they would tire of that pretty quickly since they are teens. No way. It was Goofys single most important task at every park. Hrm
..it was so much fun that I want to buy one for myself for our next trip!
The Day I've Been Waiting For
When we hopped off the bus we walked along slowly to the gate area taking pictures along the way, admiring all that was around us.
I don't know my resorts all that well since I'm a newbie - but this one sure looks purty.
Here is a pic JoJo took of the stepping-stones. What a neat idea.
We werent expecting to have our bags checked before being admitted to the park. Didnt mind it though. I asked the security guard what they were looking for. I was told they were checking for alcohol or anything illegal. When they went through DDs bags I chuckled to myself. What kind of parents would put something in their childrens bags? I guess it happens or they wouldnt be looking. *shudders at that thought*
I swear the card-swiping thing was jinxed for our family. It always gave us trouble. Im not joking about this.
Outside Main Street U.S.A., Mickey & Minnie were waiting to greet guests as they arrived. I turned around to ask Goofy & JoJo if they would like to get autographs. Goofy was gone!!!!! I quickly scanned the crowd and spotted her already in the line up. The little stinker didnt even wait for us. JoJo joined her and we took some wonderful pics.
Notice JoJo in her new sweatshirt - don't know how she could wear that in the heat. *shakes head*
Once inside the kingdom, my DDs wandered around the area collecting more siggies.
This is one of MANY shots taken with the famous chipmunks throughout our trip. Think they were the girls favourite.
There were two characters none of us knew. Didnt find out who they were until we had dinner that evening. Here they are:
He looks like he wants to eat her for lunch!
I even stood in line to have my picture taken with Goofy.
And here is DH taking our pic standing in line:
Finally our moment has arrived:
Goofy with Goofy
Whats up with the height of this character anyhow??
Look at Goofster lifting his ear *giggles*
The girls and I had a hoot going from store to store I dont know what DH was doing at that time he wasnt with us. Off doing his own thing. No worries.
Since we hadnt eaten breakfast we tried finding a place for a quick snack but most shops had long line-ups and we just didnt feel like waiting. Prince Grumpy and the girls ate an ice cream bar while I decided to hold off until I could find something that resembled more of a breaky. Never happened. About an hour later, I too was munching on an ice cream bar. Ya like thats nutritious. Made a mental note to myself that we must eat at the resort before leaving in the mornings.
