"But Mom, I want to come back to WDW!"

Poppinspal:

Yes the people down east are extremely nice. A very friendly bunch.

Just saw your post on your tr and looks like you're going to write another installment today. Woohoo. More reading.

I better get my act together, get some work done around the house and then sit down and try to write another installment also.

Where does the time go?

I know...spending way too much of it on the disboards. Haha. :surfweb:

I really need to get a life.

Anyhow...looking forward to your next chapter.

I THOUGHT I recognized YOU.

Heh heh.

I'm just startin'.

This trippie.

But... I'm excited. I'm IN.

I'm gonna be needing MORE hours in my day.

With all these trippies. Happening. Now.

Cheers, Melly.

WOW! MEL! You made it over here!!!!!

I'm honoured, pleased and impressed that you can find the time.

I feel like I should make a point of trying to finish your second TR and then look for the 3rd one.

Can you tell I'm feeling a bit guilty now

I am.

YOU did this to me.

Seriously, I'm just kidding. Thanks for joining in.

Appreciate it and all that.

Day 2 - Part 2

This was going to be the big day – the day we ventured to Magic Kingdom:

a place where the child in all of us is allowed to surface,
a place of dreams and fantasy,
a place you never want to leave.

:rainbow:

The four of us were bubbling with excitement as we waited at the bus stop. We double-checked to see if we brought along everything we would need for our morning in the kingdom. The most important being our cameras, cards, confirmation number for CRT and of course the autograph books.

JoJo brought along her book that we bought her when she was only 9 months old. She wanted to continue with her old book and fill it up with signatures she missed out on. The night before Goofy and I went shopping at the resort for her book. Her original plan was to use 6 x 6 card stock (that I was supposed to print up and have ready but never got around to) but in the end she decided against it. Wonder why? Heh. I also purchased one of those large blue Mickey pens for signing with. JoJo had 3 or 4 sharpies tucked in her bag that I picked up long before our trip.

I never really thought that they’d take such an interest in the autographs. I figured they would tire of that pretty quickly since they are teens. No way. It was Goofy’s single most important task at every park. Hrm…..it was so much fun that I want to buy one for myself for our next trip!

The Day I've Been Waiting For :Pinkbounc

1125322-2.jpg

When we hopped off the bus we walked along slowly to the gate area taking pictures along the way, admiring all that was around us.

1125322-3.jpg

I don't know my resorts all that well since I'm a newbie - but this one sure looks purty.

Here is a pic JoJo took of the stepping-stones. What a neat idea.

1125322-3a.jpg

We weren’t expecting to have our bags checked before being admitted to the park. Didn’t mind it though. I asked the security guard what they were looking for. I was told they were checking for alcohol or anything illegal. When they went through DD’s bags I chuckled to myself. What kind of parents would put something in their children’s bags? I guess it happens or they wouldn’t be looking. *shudders at that thought*

I swear the card-swiping thing was jinxed for our family. It always gave us trouble. I’m not joking about this.

1125322-4.jpg

Outside Main Street U.S.A., Mickey & Minnie were waiting to greet guests as they arrived. I turned around to ask Goofy & JoJo if they would like to get autographs. Goofy was gone!!!!! I quickly scanned the crowd and spotted her already in the line up. The little stinker didn’t even wait for us. JoJo joined her and we took some wonderful pics.

1125322-5-med.jpg

1125322-6.jpg

Notice JoJo in her new sweatshirt - don't know how she could wear that in the heat. *shakes head*

Once inside the kingdom, my DDs wandered around the area collecting more siggies.

1125322-7-med.jpg

This is one of MANY shots taken with the famous chipmunks throughout our trip. Think they were the girls favourite.

There were two characters none of us knew. Didn’t find out who they were until we had dinner that evening. Here they are:

1125322-8-med.jpg

1125322-9-med.jpg

He looks like he wants to eat her for lunch!

I even stood in line to have my picture taken with Goofy.

1125322-10.jpg

And here is DH taking our pic standing in line:

1125322-11.jpg

Finally our moment has arrived:

1125322-12-med.jpg

Goofy with Goofy :rotfl:

1125322-13-med.jpg

What’s up with the height of this character anyhow??
Look at Goofster lifting his ear *giggles*

The girls and I had a hoot going from store to store – I don’t know what DH was doing at that time – he wasn’t with us. Off doing his own thing. No worries.

Since we hadn’t eaten breakfast we tried finding a place for a quick snack but most shops had long line-ups and we just didn’t feel like waiting. Prince Grumpy and the girls ate an ice cream bar while I decided to hold off until I could find something that resembled more of a breaky. Never happened. About an hour later, I too was munching on an ice cream bar. Ya like that’s nutritious. Made a mental note to myself that we must eat at the resort before leaving in the mornings.

Next up…Adventures in Adventureland.

That resort is the infamous Grand Floridian.

Chip and Dale have long been my favorite. I love them in the old Mickey Mouse show cartoons and they (as you will see in my tr) were my best character interaction while I was away.

Your dd is like my sis, she wears sweatshirts in the heat and I just don't get it! I'd be passed out on the ground gasping for water! (Although if I was passed out I'm not sure how I'm still gasping for water. ;) )

Loved the lastest update, can't wait to see how the rest of your day went. Update soon! Please.

I'm off to do some writing myself.

blue.....I just found your TR!

Excellent read and love the pic's.

Looking foward to more!

Oh I know you just DIDN'T!!!! :rotfl:
Seriously though, the Grande Floridian is like the most famous resort there isn't it? That's like the top dog of all the resorts.

Ugh...now I feel totally stupid...I guess that's what I get for posting innocent remarks and being honest :confused3

Everything I know about WDW is what I have learned from the disboards and my short lived visit from so many years ago.

Anyhow, thanks for reading Beck...I think :teeth:

Thank you Yak! There are sooo many beautiful resorts that I'd love to stay at.

Top of my list is AKL.

We're real nature freaks and I just know my DD's would enjoy that place so much. Means I'll have to save a little extra for our next trip. Hope I can do it.

It's okay...my feelings were only hurt a tiny bit - j/k

Most of our pics were taken by DH which is why he isn't in many of them :sad2:

That's just sad and something I intend to keep in mind for the next trip

I did have my own cam but was using it mostly for mpegs

Well thank you! I've seen many of your pics so that's a real compliment :)

Day 2 – Part 3

First I want to thank everyone who is following my trippie and welcome the newcomers. :)

Now, on with the show.

By this point about two hours had already been stolen from our day and we hadn’t even been on any rides yet. Not that we regretted it though. Seeing the wonder and excitement in my daughter’s eyes with the characters brought me so much joy. It reminded me of Christmas – watching the expressions on your child’s face running out to the tree to see what Santa left behind.

1125322-14-med.jpg

A pic for family members and those who haven't been in a long time.

1125322-16.jpg

Next up was Swiss Family Treehouse. I had little desire to make the long trek up to see it because if my memory served me correctly it was just plain old tiring. JoJo and Goofy insisted on seeing it so in my haste to please them, we marched up the lengthy winding steps. They haven’t seen that movie and imo - it just isn’t the same experience. However, JoJo was impressed and took many photos to prove it. Even took a snapshot of a spider in a web along the way. I remember this clearly as we all had to stop and wait for her to do this (I must admit here that I didn’t mind the break in the climb). The things that amuse my baby. :rotfl:

1125322-17.jpg

1125322-18.jpg

Another shot taken by JoJo.

This part is important because it involves a fellow disser. Barb. I didn’t meet her, but I met her mother. What a nice lady. We sat and chatted for over 15 minutes. We discussed the scooters you rent (as she was using one). Apparently it is wiser to rent one offsite for the week than to rent one from the parks. Good to know. DH and looked into this because as I mentioned earlier, I have a bad back and thought I may need to use one on occasion but fortunately I didn’t (with the help of my daily dose of Robax). She (I wish I could remember her name but only her daughters sticks out in my mind) was traveling with her DD and DM. Three generations doing the world. Pretty cool I thought. Maybe even more if Barb had kids. Don’t know this fact. She explained to me how much research Barb received from the disboards. Ya, ya, I agreed. She gave us a few tips and mentioned that we should go see Philharmagic if we hadn’t done so already. We hadn’t and we definitely would. After seeing the anxious looks on the rest of my gangs faces it was time to move along. I thanked her and we left. :wave2:

Onwards to the Jungle Cruise.

1125322-19-med.jpg

This was our longest wait in the MK – only a 15 min. wait. I think we may have waited longer for some of the character siggies. Our CM was hilarious, full of puns and do you think I can remember any to tell you. I can’t. I even asked the family last night if they could repeat ANY of the jokes. No such luck. Now if I knew I was going to come home and write this trippie…I’d have taken better notes and jotted down those types of details. The lessons we learn.

1125322-20.jpg

Anyhow, Goofy actually believed the animals were real at first and asked me with a straight face “Mom, what about the alligators? Will they get us?” Now that is just too cute. This was the point where I broke the magic spell and told her they weren’t real. I’m sure the ppl beside got a kick out of her by the looks of their smirks. :lmao:

1125322-21-med.jpg

1125322-22-med.jpg

pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate:

I knew Pirates would be a favourite. Both girls love JD in the movie. We’ve been made watch it more than once. I’ve lost count. Goofy bought four POC pins at the resort during our trip and JoJo considered a POC shirt but decided against it thinking it was too boyish looking. Not that she’s a girly girl because she definitely isn’t.

1125322-23.jpg

As we were entering and saw the mist with the projected image, I quickly told Prince Grumpy to put his camera away so it wouldn’t get wet. Hrm. That didn’t happen and I felt silly afterwards. (Poppinspal - your bf shouldn't feel bad) :goodvibes

1125322-26.jpg

This was a fantastic ride. Even Prince Grumpy was impressed. He went to WDW once as a child but hardly remembers anything from his trip. I think it is a selective thing. JoJo was enthralled with it and kept asking me “How do they do that?” Squeals of excitement could be heard from the two of them when they finally saw JD. I swear JoJo almost fell out of the boat trying to get a good picture of him. Both DD’s were starting to realize exactly what WDW was all about. No rides like the EX. No games like the EX. Something much more extraordinary.

Next up…lunch at CRT (I hope). I keep saying that but never seem to get to it.

yeah.
pirates was my 2nd favorite ride.
but i ebjoyed everything!
<3

Great report. I love your pictures. They really capture the magic!
