One thing for sure, this makes you realize just how many people read posts in all areas of DIS....folks who don't often post in a certain area speak up when the right button is pushed....(I guess)

They may be like me. With the new board format, I often use the "New Posts" option and click on titles without realizing which forum they are in. Sometimes (like this one actually), I'm well into the thread before I figure out the forum (for this thread, I had to check). So, the "right button" is just the title.

Admittedly, since the OP now says that he was breaking no rules, I don't get the title anyway! But it drew me in.

My first date was at MK, we got engaged at the Orlando Airport (because he couldn't wait until we got to the parks). We could never afford a Disney World Wedding - we certainly priced them out at the time. But a "flash vow renewal" someday? That sounds romantic. It's not about cheating Disney - it's about honoring your marriage in a place that is special to you in a manner you can afford. It's not like you're trying to get away with a huge wedding procession, Cannon in D on a string quartet and a four course meal with a DJ. Come on.

I am loving everyone's support, and still smirking at the senselessness of such silly resentment for someone's willingness to do something great. Our story is similar but not. 42 years ago, two out of college Wisconsin kids got married, and honeymooned at Disney. Why, it wasn't very old then, but neither were we. Fast forward 27 years, after working hard at raising four awesome kids, milking cows 365 days a year, 52 weeks a year, no holiday pay, etc, and our entire industry went up in smoke. The barn, the cows, the feed, the silos, all gone. So, we had a chance to get away,( remember, there was no more cows to milk), so we brought our family to Disney. They had not had the opportunity, as we were too busy creating a life we dreamed as kids. Our fateful decision had been made, we would not be able to rebuild, financially it was not in the cards. Off to Disney, with plans to tell the kids on the way home. The night before we left, we stayed for the Goodnight Kiss. With our arms around all six of us, we had tears, and dreamed a dream much bigger than we imagined. Nine moths laters our new Milking Parlor was up, new livestock purchased, and life was good. Now, 15 years later, it was the best decision we ever made. We would like to think Disney played a small part of helping us dream our dreams. Schilling Farms is a success, thanks to hard work, and a whole lot of dreams, magic, and a wonderful sprinkling of pixie dust. So, MaryAnnDVC, don't rain on someone's parade. It might be you someday that needs that bit of magic in your life.

I agree! When reading the first post, my immediate thought was that this sounded really sweet & kudos to the CM who used good judgement not to ruin the guests' moment. WDW has played a special role in my relationship with my honey, too. We spent our first vacation there, became engaged immediately upon returning home from a WDW trip, spent our first wedding anniversary there, and we've shared many other happy memories in the parks & resorts. It would be really neat to commemorate that, especially with someone else who understands just how magical & special it is, such as the good ole' R.Scupper. Better luck next time, Agent R.S.

I found one person who posted how a Rogue Vow Renewel can happin-IN THE PARKS!-

"Another option We did our vow renewel in 2002 through Gifts of a Lifetime. It was great and actually turned out to be a renewel for DW and I and a family renewel including DS.

The way it went was we were walking through Fantasyland and DS and I "disappeared" from DW in the crowd. A person approached her and gave her a card that told her to go to the Carrosel and ride. There, she got another card with a poem message and directions to Small World. DS met her there (with a caretaker) and gave her another poem after they rode. She then met me at Snow White for another ride.

We all ended up back at the Wishing Well beside the Castle where we had a small ceremony with "vows" that I wrote, bubbles, etc. It was very cool and DS had a nice part in all of it.

DW really liked the "mystery" aspects of it and the way we involved all of us and special spots for each.

The cost was around $150 I think, but that's only a shady-memory guess. The same concept could be done for less, especially if you are there with friends to help with the logistics."
