Bush Supporters

I don't think he called Canada a third-world-country. His statement was Canada gets it's prescription drugs from third-world-countries (poor choice of wording) overseas would have been a better choice.

What he failed to say was so doesn't the USA but we charge the people 3-4 times more for our drugs then Canada.

It amazes me what you hear, then what you hear again it's not even close to the original statement.

Sadly this is happening on both sides. Take one word from a statement and spin it, spin it some more, give it one more spin, just to confuse everyone.

My only comments:

1) "What an arrogant jerk. Nice way to alienate other countries."
Nice way to invite rational discourse.

2) If you actually mean "Bush supporters how can you defend your (insert slam) president", please put that in the post title as these little games of drawing in people thinking the post will go one way but then go another is quite tiresome.

3) Given the vile nature of your op, your sneakiness with the title, and past posts, I see no reason to conclude you actually wish to participate in a discussion.

I haven't heard that he called Canada a third world country. I did hear last night though, that the US wants Canada to supply them with the flu vaccine since they are short. I guess we're not such a dangerous drug supplier after all.

I would hate to think of where we would be if Kerry was President and-God forbid-we were hit with another terrorist attack. I try to be very passive on these boards but HOW RUDE!!!!! Do you realize that many of us had family members and friends go up in flames in those towers and planes!!!!! Not a day goes by that I don't think about the family members who lost husbands, wives, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, cousins, boyfriends, girlfriends, and the list goes on and on. Bush handled that situation VERY well and we would all do better to rememeber that from time to time. You should be ashamed of yourself wanting to come to our country and enjoy ALL the freedoms we are enjoying but not expect YOUR man to have to fight for them. Nobody wants anyone to go to war but if we never did we would be just like the people in Irag with no freedoms.

I agree with disney4us2002 next time you decide to bash Bush don't be so sneaky about it. I NEVER go on political boards because of this reason but because of the title I though I had found some fellow supporters, boy was I wrong.

::yes::

Unless he was intending only to distribute Canadian vaccine to the "Blue" states.

Amazing to me that you are going to move to such a vile country governed by such a ridiculous group of people.

I will ditto what disney4us2002 said in response to your post, as that seems to me to be exactly your intention.

I don't agree with anyone on either side of the political fence taking things out of context or twisting them to look like something they are not.

Perhaps it's time for me to fire up the ignore button again, since your post titles are usually misleading as to your post contents. I don't care for that type of "behavior" on a bulletin board. I prefer hoesty.

Considering what they're doing in regards to pouring money into the "right" areas of Florida, your comments aren't that far off the wall....

damo,

Again, I wish people would stop trying to boil the whole drug importation issue down to the simplicity of an editorial cartoon.

I've posted this document three times now. It's the testimoney of the global director of product protection from Eli Lilly. It details their findings in recent years with regard to the counterfeiting and illegal importation of Lilly products. Look at Page 6. It clearly shows that Canada is a major conduit for such products entering the US. And yes, much of the counterfeit product originates in "third world countries". Here it is: http://www.hhs.gov/importtaskforce/session2/presentations/Lilly.pdf

As for the "we're not such a dangerous drug supplier after all" crack, well you can surely bet the farm that the production facility that such vaccine would come from will be an FDA inspected and licensed facility and would have to meet the same standards as domestic facilities. Such conditions would not be true for drugs imported under the number of importation bills that have passed before Congress.

I love when people from other countries tell me who to vote for or think that they know whats best for our country

Yes it is. However that doesn't mean I need to agree with the current gvt. I think Bush is the single most dangerous man in the world and that, if anyone is likely to start a third world war, its Bush.

It scares the daylights out of me that my fiance might be forced into military service to find a war in a country that he and I don't agree with. I'm terrified that he may end up dying for this crazy man.

Admittedly, Kerry isn't much better, but Bush isn't doing you guys any good. If anything he's making everything worse.

I've been sitting here watching as he advocates the removal of choice for pregnant women, keeping the right to marry from segments of the population, treats other countries like they are his toys, advocates a return to a totally Christian world and worse. Everything he does frightens me. And the fact that so many people allow their fear of another terrorist attack to allow themselves to vote for this man scares me more.

He is a man with one hand on the button of a nuclear device (last week, I heard he is advocating removal from the nuclear treaties and creating an atom bomb as bad as hiroshima. Not sure you guys heard that though. I'm sorry, it was a news break and I can't remember what channel it was on) and the other on the pulse of the world.

And the American people are going to vote for him out of fear which is no reason to vote for someone at all. You've just had the barest taste of what other countries in the world have experienced for millenia. War doesn't end war, it just kills more people.

I'm not a pacifist and I fully agreed with going to into Afghanistan but hearing Bush talk about attacking China and so many other countries is terrifying. The fact that he's actually getting away with it is worse.

The US is NOT the only country in the world, they are just currently the most powerful (that won't last long if this keeps up though).

This is a WORLD community now, not just individual people. It frightens me that alot of these wonderful people that I've met on the internet may be dead because Bush decided he didn't like someones way of life.

What next? India? Russia? Italy? How about England or an invasion into Canada (we've been accused of allowing these people into the united states and sometimes, Bush makes it seem as though we are the enemy just because we don't agree with everything he's doing and won't back him up on it)>

Bush has a "if your not with me, your against me mentality" that should never be allowed.

I've been watching as American citizens gradually give up their freedoms in exchange for a perceived protection that doesn't really exist.

Bush needs to be removed.
I think you have a little to much time on your hands! Worry about what is going on in Canada. We as Americans will worry about our own country and President! I sure don't need your NEWS BREAK to fill me in on whats going on in the US. Also make sure to get the facts before reporting your version on the agenda of the American President! I really don't care to listen to your own personal attacks.

I'm wondering how many people in Iraq feel the same way you do.

I wonder how many people in Iraq are glad to be rid of a leader who tortured, raped, killed his own people? I wonder how many people are glad for the help of the US? Lets be sure to ask ourselves these questions too!

Maybe they are darned happy that they can vote in an election where someone other than Saddam Hussein is running.

And what is this supposed to mean? I can only think it has to do with FEMA money for Hurricane Relief. If it is, I believe that to be a very sad statement. People are without homes, some have unlivable homes, and others have homes that need major repairs. This money is to help those affected, and you don't have to be "blue" or "red" to get the help. :(

What it's supposed to mean is that I've listened to several reports about people in Florida complaining because they believe the disaster relief is not being equitably distributed and is being used for political gain.

Don't get all up in arms. I have no problem with people in Florida or anywhere else receiving disaster funds.

Grrrrrrrrrreat, if you don't like our country, and hate our President, why move here? Stay in Canada, and stop trying to dictate our politics, and we won't tell you who to vote for.

peachgirl, you could go into any county, heck into any town and ask how FEMA has responded. You will get two answers, they are great, or they suck. It has nothing to do with red and blue counties and everything to do with how fast FEMA responded to that particular household. :D

I dunno, maybe they'd want him back... he got 100% of the vote during the last election held in Iraq. Who are we to question their choice?

Good thing someone loaned me tin foil.
