I only brought up Bartlett as an example of how the President is in such a weaked state politically, even Republican members of Congress, ex-Reagan Administration economists, neocon op-ed apologists like David Brooks, as well as a majority of the American public do not approve of the job that Bush is doing and it shows in the polls...Teejay32 said:Some have been complaining all along, and I'm always wondering how it was that Bush promised the conservative movement anything. Conservatives had a choice: Bush or Gore. Buchanan and other hard-line conservatives don't win elections. So that's a legitimate criticism - he's not that conservative - but Bartlett feeling "betrayed" is kind of amusing.
Personally, I don't agree politically with Bartlett (too far to the Right for my tastes), but would he have published this book 2 years ago? No way.
