buses to Expo

I know this is a transportation question, but I expect only marathon people will know this. I know they have buses to and from the Expo to the resorts, but do they have any buses that run from the parks to the expo at the Wide World of Sports?

I don't want to alarm anyone unnecessarily, but for marathon weekend this past January I stayed at AKL and when I asked about buses to the expo, I was told there were none. We had a car, so I didn't investigate any further. I would e-mail disneysports@emmi.com and ask them that question. I cannot recall if I saw any buses that were servicing Wide World of Sports.

According to the handy-dandy 2006 Race Packet:

"Shuttle buses will depart from the WDW Resorts/Hotels to Disney's Wide World of Sports complex every 45 minutes. (Thursday January 5th-Saturday January 7th). Transportation to the Expo will begin one huor prior to opening and will continue until one hour after closing."

ETA: There is also a bus that runs to the WWoS from MGM, every half hour, I believe.

There were busess from all resorts during marathon weekend to the expo last time and it should be the same this time.

I know there were TONS of buses from the resorts for 2005. I was just trying to plan my park day around picking up our packets, and was hoping for a direct bus from MK to WWOS--oh well, I'll just walk over to the CR and catch a bus there.

Solotraveler: silly question, but do they have a bus that goes from the expo to MGM--that is what I would like to do after picking up my stuff.

You should also know that the busses leaving the resorts are not located in the WDW bus stops. (At least the one at BW was not) I had to "discover" that it was picking up away from the WDW bus area and walk a short hop to the location.
