i'm staying at the por in november. i know one of the perks of staying on site is the buses. my brother on the other hand said he drove and used the free parking to avoid all the confusion about which bus to take for each resort. is it really confusing because i would really like to use the buses for the disney parks.

Depending on attendance, usually, I think its quicker to drive to MGM, Epcot, and AK, and ride the bus to MK. At MK, if you drive, you still have to "get" to the gate - ie by ferry or monorail. If you ride the bus to MK, they drop you at the gate area, but then you miss the monorail. So, it depends on your preference.

I guess there are pros and cons to each. Buses mean you are waiting for someone else to drive you somewhere on someone elses schedule. Cars mean YOU are possibly sitting in traffic.

You're going in November, so as long as its not "Jersey week" or Thanksgiving, the crowds should be less, and therefore less traffic. I would still ride the bus to MK, though, but that's just MHO.

Just remember, you can't drive to MK. You drive to the main lot and then have to take the monorail, boat or bus to MK which sometimes can be a pain because there are alot of people having to do the same thing. Depends on what time of year you are going and how crowded they are.
I always use Disney transportation and have never had a problem.

Must admit we love the buses. Being from Ohio we have to get a rental car on our visits so we think of the buses as a cost saver.

Taking the bus isn't confusing. Neither is driving. I prefer to drive because my car goes when I'm ready. Not when its full. Not when it gets done dropping other people off. On top of that, I can listen to my music, make a stop along the way, not worry if the person next to me had beans for lunch.

If your staying on Disney property it's part of the package anyway so why not use it

Is this refering to the bus? Or the free parking?

In the past we always relied on the buses and they were fine, but this past trip we rented a car for the first time and it was great. Will never be without a rental again. No more standing in lines, standing on a full bus trying to carry sleepy kids, lots of bags, folding the stroller, no mad dash at the end of the night, had my radio on, kids could sleep in the backseat on the way back. Stop at the store for snacks, drinks, groceries, could eat off site. And it wasn't that much more of a walk to the car compared to the bus stops.
