Okay, we have decided to cancel out the rental car we had booked and are just going to use a combination of taxi's and the bus.:scared1:

Since we never use the buses to/from the parks, does anyone know how much time I should allow to get to AK from BLT/CR stop?

We may end up doing a taxi anyway, but we have nine people so am assuming we would need at least two.

Any help?

I would allow at least an hour or maybe more at peak times.

You'll have several transportation options available when staying at BLT. The Unofficial Guide to WDW estimates that the transportation time from CR/BLT to Animal Kingdom is 26 to 38 minutes. But that doesn't allow for the time it takes to wait for the bus. I've had situations where I wait 30 minutes for my bus and I've had other situations where my bus shows up just as I arrive at the bus stop.

The CR/BLT bus stop is very near the CR lobby entrance and the taxi stand. So you can walk by the bus stop first to see if a bus comes quickly. If it doesn't come in 5 minutes or so, then walk over to the taxi stand and grab a taxi.

You can also catch a bus for the Animal Kingdom at the Ticket and Transportation Center, which would involve riding the monorail from CR. It might not save you any transit time by going to the TTC, but I always enjoy riding the monorail and think of it as an "attraction" rather than just transportation.

And don't forget that the MK bus stop offers more transportation options for you if you can walk over from BLT. I'm not sure if there is an MK to AK bus, but I'm almost positive there is an AK to MK bus. At least on the return from AK you can takes buses that go to CR/BLT, TTC, or the MK.

Have fun!!

Thanks everyone. Just called Mears to get an idea. We would need two vehicles as they have one that seats 7 and one that seats 5 and we are a party of nine.

They said that it would run us about $20 for each vehicle to go from BLT to AK in the morning. For me, well worth it, especially since I am saving over $200 not having the mini van rental and to be honest, this was really the main reason to have it. And, truthfully, I could go a year without going to AK but have guests coming who have never been so can't.

For the ride home, we are move flexible and I am willing to take the bus.

I also rearranged some ADR's so now won't need to get to DTD from Boardwalk either so it will work out great!

Spoiled, aren't I?:rotfl:
