Waited 45 min at DTD for a fort bus, not sure I want to spend 150 a night to camp for service like that , saw at least 3 if not 4 buses for all the other resorts, I guess my white trash money isn't good enough for them, really disappointing

Sorry you had a disappointing day. After numerous trips which have involved using the bus system from the Fort, I can assure you that the number of buses and wait time can vary with crowds, weather, traffic, etc. Sometimes 2 Fort buses can pull up at almost the same time, and other times the wait can be considerable.
It really has nothing to so with who you are or where you are staying, in fact, from some destinations, the routes for the Wilderness Lodge ($$$), and Fort Wilderness use a shared bus. If you put things in perspective, even a 45 minute wait for a bus is much less than the wait for Space Mountain, Test Track and other major attractions (at a very high ticket price). Just a fact of life at popular weeks for WDW.

It is a bus system and while there have been times we had to wait longer then we would have prefered, on average its not that big of a deal. Since most of our trips to DTD are usually for dinner and drinks out, even if I could drive I would not.

Don't feel rushed. That is the whole purpose of the Disney Experience is relaxation and taking in the sights.

Regarding DTD, one idea that I suggest, which we did last time, was take a bus from that location to a park and then grab the direct flight from that location.

Slightly longer trip, but again the views are awesome.
