Bus service from AKL

Can someone tell me the time it takes to get from AKL each of the parks using the Bus service? that would be a big help.

I didn't time it, but it could take around 20 +/- minutes to get to MK. The trips were shorter to MGM/Epcot/Waterparks - maybe 15 minutes +/-.

Not long. We rode busses some and drove some....it really isn't that far away from anything..it just seems like you are far out. As MK closed with traffic maybe 15 minutes. Maybe about 2 from AK in mid afternoon....I can't judge times well, but it never seemed long. It always seemed a lot shorter than the boat ride from FW to MK or the bus ride from FW to anywhere.

I'm waiting for the 2006 edition of the Unofficial Guide to come out in September. The UG has aproximate commute times, both by car and bus, from all of the resorts.

I found a copy of the 2005 edition at my local library, but I turned it back in last week. You may be able to find a copy in your library. I highly recommend it.

I buy a copy before every trip. Since I'm going in December, and the new guide comes out in September, I have been using the library copy for planning this time.

As I remember, AK had the longest average commute times to the parks(other than AK obviously), but they still were not inordinately long.

AKL has great transportation b/c they don't share busses w/any other resorts. So when the bus pulls up for MK, it goes straight there.

Most of the other resorts share so it can take longer. For example, if you stay at the Polynesian, busses will stop at the GF before going to a park and coming back will stop at the Contemporary. Yeah, you can get to the MK pretty fast, but the busses seem to take forever. Just like the Epcot resorts share- I think BWI, YC, BC maybe even Swan and Dolphin all share.

AKL is also nice b/c there's just one busstop versus having multiple ones w/in the resort like the moderates.

I found the AKL to have the best bus service. At some resorts you wait over 30 min. for a bus and there packed and have multi. stops. We never waited more than 10 mints. for a bus and it didn't seem long at all straight from AKL to the parks. And the buses were never crowded!

The bus service from AKL (7/04) was excellent, no complaints. The busses were never over crowded, never had to wait more then 10 minutes. Covered walkway from the hotel to the bus pick up was also very nice.

AKL bus service was great! We hardly had to wait for the buses and commute time was short. MK was the longest (about 15 minutes I think), AK was just a couple of minutes. To me, the longest commute was Downtown Disney. The driver made so many turns and drove so slow. It took 30 minutes to get there, even though there was hardly any traffic. But the drivers were all very pleasant, and buses were clean! We were so pleased with bus service, that we only used our car to drive to and from the airport.
