What would you choose?

When I was younger I was adamant that I wanted to be buried but I have completely changed my views and now want to be cremated.

I quite fancy having a willow coffin and having my ashes buried in one of the Natural Death Centre's woodland burial grounds.

Who knows but I really should make my mind up soon!

rubbish bag? naw just chuck me in the woods, worms gotta eat too, it's a circle of life thing

I plan on living forever.;) But if forever gets here too soon, my family knows I hate to be hot, so no cremation (especially if I'm still in this area when forever gets here:eek: ).

me too.

My great Uncle was creamated when I was young and I remember it vividly and the thought just scared me half to death! (no pun intended)

But now, its what I want... take what you can use from me to help those in need, then cremate the rest and put the ashes here:

That is my wish.

Funny you should ask. I always insisted on being cremated, but recently, while walking through a few cemeteries, thought maybe being buried would be better. I love cemeteries so much, that maybe I really should be in one for eternity. ;) So I guess I'm undecided.

I want to be cremated. I see no point in taking up valuable land that could be used for farming or housing or another use to house my earthly remains and mark the spot with a granite stone.

Our church has a lovely small memorial garden for the remains of cremated members. Whatever's left of my earthly body can reside there. The really important part of me will already be in heaven.

However, to each his own. I totally respect anyone's wishes to decide for themselves what feels right for them.

Couldn't agree more. Just throw my earthly body wherever you (DW) want. I won't need it anymore. :D

I have a real problem with all the funeral costs etc. (no offense to any funeral people out there). When my dad died, my mom would have spent the world on his funeral had I not been along to reel her in. I think people are so grieved that they think they are doing something wonderful for the dear departed by spending a ton of money.
My husband and I have discussed this at length. He said to stick him in the burning barrel at home and then scatter him in the timber (he is an avid hunter) and bypass the funeral home entirely. Now, I don't quite think that is legal, but a thought:D
I want to be cremated as well. Cheap as possible. I don't care where they put 'me' afterwards. I won't be here anyway. I don't like cold and the ground seems pretty cold to me.
I know that funerals are for the living, but I don't want my family spending money on something like that. I want them to have a celebration instead! Heck, they could all go to WDW on what a funeral costs!!!

Cremate me. My DH wants to be STUFFED and propped up in the corner. Know a good taxidermist?

LOL Peggy :rotfl:

I just had a vision of the mother in the cellar in Psycho - but she wasn't stuffed! :p

We're REALLY tacky here...call it the "singe and swim" or " fry and fly" method...cremation followed by ashes into the ocean or scatterd into the air. I just don't see taking up the space, and I sure as heck don't want my kids to feel obligated into visiting my gravesite...I would much rather have them look at a picture of me and maybe have a smile or two. Remembering me in the comfort of their own home is much more appealing. Plus I hate the cold and no light. I call our basement the dungeon...jsut the thought of being in the ground...I know, I know..no offense to anyone else, I just shiver at the thought of it.
BTW, just how soon DO you have to make up your mind? :teeth:

I would like to be creamated, and set by my loved ones-especially next to my son.

My mother wants to be cremated but I can't decide. I will probably opt for cremation

None of the choices. I'd like to be in a moselium (?) My Mom passed away in July & she is in a marble moselium & I think I'd like that also.

I never thought of a mausoleum as one of the options.
