Two years ago, we were just days away from an 8 day Thanksgiving trip to Disney. Although my Dh wasn't a big fan (yet), he ended up loving our trip. It truly was magical! We knew we couldn't afford to go every year, so we tentatively made plans to go back this year. 2011, for Thanksgiving again. For a variety of reasons including a small drop in income, car troubles and moving, we can't afford to go back this year. I know it isn't the end of the world, but I can't get over feeling a little down. Anyone else in a similar boat?

Know what you mean I havent been to WDW since i was 15 (26 now) and my DF said in 2013 we will go as we are getting married next year and my little girl will be 3 so although it was 2 years away i got so excited and that is why i joined these boards, but we have had to postpone the wedding til May 2013 because we are getting married in Greece rather than nearer home I am so excited about getting married abroad but now the WDW trip has been put on the back burner til maybe later 2013 or 2014and that is only if our circumstances dont change as we are hoping to add to our family after the wedding.
I feel really spoilt because i am gutted we arent going to WDW but i am going to greece which will be amazing but WDW beckons lol xxx

You're probably feeling badly right now because you would have been happily packing for your trip if things had gone according to plan. The sting will fade once you start focusing on all of your holiday preparations and less on the canceled trip.

I've had to cancel trips in the past because of one thing or another. It's never fun to make that call to Disney or your travel agent. And when the date rolls around, I can't help but think "Right now, we would be in line for PotC" or "I wonder if we would be on DME yet or even at our resort?"

My best advice is to start planning and saving for that "someday" trip. It really does help to refocus on something positive.
