Building/room location suggestion for HHI?

For our first trip as DVC members, we are heading down to HHI on June 25th with our good friends, staying in a 2 bedroom. Another friend and her family will meet us there two days later, staying in a studio. When I made the reservations, I requested our rooms be near eachother (I realize it's only a request). However, there is nothing noted on either reservation. Should I call MS as the date gets closer and if so--what is your favorite location????

You may not have a lot of input regarding buildings due to the way the resort is set up and your desire to have a 2BR and a nearby studio.

There are only 21 studios at the resort and 16 of them are in the main lodge - Buildings 11/12. There are no dedicated 2BRs in those buildings.

The remaining 5 studios are found under a GV in one these buildings: 16,18,19, 28 and 30. There are also 2BR villas in each of those buildings - so that is the most likely location to meet your request. Building 18 has a marsh view and the others have a wooded/interior resort view. No studios, 1BR villas or GV have a pool view - although many are near the pool.

I'd just request that the studio is near your 2BR and hope they can accommodate that request (they do try their best to meet that sort of request) and not place any additional requirement unless you need HCA villas.

All of the studios and 1BR villas are lockoff units but they usualy will not allow them to be reserved as a lock-off 2BR unless that is needed for HCA access.

Thanks Doc--I just noticed it says "dedicated 2 bdrm" on my reservation. So, I guess I should request one of those buildings you mentioned that have both 2bdrms and studios.

If I want to request a specific building, do I call MS or the resort directly?
