How busy does Bugs Land at DCA get and how early after open? We want to check it out as it looks cute - but also want to do the Disney Chase character pic in the morning . . .

It opens when DCA opens. It can get busy during high volume crowds but usually it's not too bad.

Not sure about how busy -- our trip was the last week of Jan 08 and the lines were very short the night we went in, however I will say the land is built primarily for the very young .. I'd say toddlers to 7 or so. Not sure if you have kids and what ages, but it's a very "little person" area.. and fantastic if that's what you've got! We did ride the Heimlich "train" (we're 24 and 25) and it was adorable.

My family loves Bug's Land! :) It is sooo cute. Our littlest DS went for the first time when he was 2. Heimlich was his favorite. It smells like watermelon and animal crackers. All 5 of my "boys" (DH included) rode in the Flik's Flyers Chinese food carton - which we thought was funny since DH is Chinese and of course so are all the boys. I love that picture!

We spend quite a lot of time there since it isn't very crowded and the lines are usually very short. We have graduated to bumper cars now with our youngest DS - he is a terrible driver - but loves to drive! :drive:

Great! Thanks for the info - we're just big kids at heart (celebrating the 40th of one of my girlfriends!). I was worried we'd have "dumbo syndrome" in that area - if we didn't go there first thing we'd be waiting hours or end up skipping it. I love bumper cars :)

LOL Its pretty much the only time I can say that I enjoy bugs and that they dont creep me out! :rotfl2:

we went there a night before we left to go do the fireworks at DL. There were no lines at that time (in December), I don't know about morning though.

If you don't have small kids it is worth a walkthrough to see all the bug stuff. But the rides are geared towards very small kids like someone said. They do have the Bugs Life theater that is very cute and you should go see that. Last summer my two teen boys and I just walked around and watched the rides. The area is very cute but had nothing besides the theater that I we felt we needed to ride.

Just to warn you, the bumper cars are VERY slow. They are geared for smaller children with less driving experience than your group :)

We enjoyed Bug's Land with our children. With the exception of It's Tough To Be a Bug, we probably would not go back there without the children.

I love Bugs Land. The whole thing is fun to me. Our kids range from 12-15 and it is still a must do for us. I love the use of things like pencils and such for decorations.

We love bug's land, but really can't recommend the "bumper" cars for adults, unless you have little ones that are too small to drive but young enough to be thrilled by it. Talk about PAIN and discomfort!

Try it once, but don't be surprised if you're disappointed by everything but how darned cute it is. :)

The rest of bug's land, however, is great. Even Heimlich is a cute, calm, yummy smelling little ride that I'm happy to go on even without DS.
