I see that the charge for kids at a buffet is ages 3-9. What if a child under 3 eats something? Is is free? I can't imagine Disney giving food away for nothing.
A child under 3 eats free at buffets. Technically, they are "sharing" with their parents....but they can have their own plate. I guess Disney figures they can cut toddlers a break on food, since their parents are probably spending some $$ on the souvies!
We have gone for 7 years with 3 kids and have had a child under 3 every year. The child under 3 always eats free. They just figure a child under 3 isn't going to eat enough to make it worth it for parents to pay for it.
They eat free, and when you have a big eater who is ALMOST 3 years old, you really make out like a bandit with this deal!! Not that I would know anything about that...lol...
Now he's 3 and we have to pay for him to eat. Darn.
At least that's what my DD did at age 2 1/2. We ate at the Polynesian character breakfast. She was so in awe of the characters that she had a few sips of apple juice and not a single bite of food. Our wonderful waitress told us to take a banana along with us in case she got hungry.
At age 4 we did the Ice Cream Social (wish that was still around!). The cost was around $6 for that, and she had ONE bite. That was only because there were only a few people there, and Mickey actually had time to sit down at our table and feed her a bite of the sundae.
She still doesn't usually eat much, but now she's an Disney-standards aging adult of "11."
