Cast: DH & I who haven't been to WDW since we were teens w/parents & DS is 2 yo.
I've been planning since last July, DH just follows along and DS doesn't know what he's in for!
Day 4 Sunday June 2 - Check-in, MGM
Check-out from Daytona Beach, stop at Bob Evans for blueberry pancakes (my favorite)! Yummy! We don't have Bob Evans in CA, so this was a real treat.
Drive to WDW about an hour, chcek-in 11:45am at Poly Con & our room is ready! AND they checked my PS's and we have CRT for breakfast tomorrow!! Concierge came through! So far, so good! Room 1524, our room is great, 1st floor GV as requested. It was just a little too far down the hallway, about 2/3 down. This would seem even farther as the week went on!
We are meeting DH's aunt & uncle for lunch at Kona Cafe, they just happened to be leaving the same day we are arriving. DH hasn't seen them in 10 yrs, so it was nice to meet them & their daughter. We had a wonderful lunch. (see dining review for more) The menu is fantastic. They left around 2:00, so back to the room to unpack.
OK, time to get going! We leave for the bus stop at 4:00pm. We only wait about 2 min, then MGM bus is here! We are through security & in the park by 4:20. Check the times board, Beauty & the Beast at 4:30, lets go! We made it, just walked in. We were toward the back, but in the middle. It was HOT! The fans in the theater didn't seem to be doing much good. Luckily, I brought mine! Little keychain fans only $2.99 at Right Aid. The show was fantastic! DS really payed attention to the entire show. Then we stopped for frozen lemonade right outside the theater. It hit the spot! We then picked a spot for the Stars & Cars parade at 5:30pm. The beginning cars my DS didn't know who they were (Mulan, Hercules, Hunchback) but then came Snow White, Mary Poppins, Ariel, Playhouse Disney, and Mickey & Minnie and he really liked it. Now, we think DS needs a ride, so off to Great Movie Ride. We only wait about 5min, it was a lot of fun. DS wasn't even bothered by the Alien. Now we decide to eat. We head over to Toystory pizza & DS falls asleep on the walk over, just fine with us! The pizza was really good. But now what should we do? Wake him up to see Little Mermaid (which was running until 7:30) or leave? We decide to leave. Wrong choice! He woke up when getting on the bus anyway and we missed the show. We went back to MGM another day, but still didn't get into LM. Oh well, live & learn. We get back to the hotel & head to the lounge about 8:45pm for desert & Fireworks & EWP. DS absolutely loves this. The 'animals on the water' is his favorite thing at WDW. Now, we try to get him to sleep! He stayed awake until midnight! Yikes, we have a wake up call at 7:30am tomorrow, MK & CRT!
But what a way to start our stay at WDW. The day went pretty much according to plan. This would be the last day I could say that! Stay tuned....
