I live near a small private Catholic school. That school must have had a two hour delay, because I just saw some students walking past my house....

I just saw a poor girl, in her little skirt, wiht her knee highs walking past!!!! She looked older, maybe 10-12, but she sure looked cold!

I went to Catholic school growing up, too, and on snowy days (we walked to school) we wore jeans/pants under our uniform and took them off when we got to school.

I went to Catholic school as well and they didn't give much leeway with uniforms in cold weather. Our cafeteria was really cold in the winter. The staff wouldn't even let you cover yourself with a jacket while eating lunch. Teachers would go around making everyone remove jackets so that the uniform could be seen. Needless to say there were a lot of cold kids at lunch.

I'm very lucky. Kelsea has to wear a uniform, but it's a pretty relaxed code. She can wear pants, sweaters, sweatshirts, and thermal underwear underneath too. So she is able to stay warm.
It just seems cruel to me that the uniform is more important than a child's health.
