Hi,

So I just took a look at my reservation on line and Disney did automaticly lower the rate on my savanna view room for Jan 2006. I had originally booked a savanna view room through the BRP for a rate of $239.74 a night inc tax. It is now down to $210.74 a night inc. tax. Much better then the old way of trying to get your rate lowered. Way to go Disney.

Glad to hear that the program does work. That does seem like a great rate for the AKL congrats

Wow! I just went and checked my reservation thanks to your post...it went down! How cool is that!?! :teeth: We're staying three nights at AKL in January...364.62 total...only 121.54/night for Standard View! Since the rates went down I might switch to Savannah View! :sunny:

Oh man, we were trying to get 129 or under a night for Jan 2006 and couldn't so we decied to go ahead and borrow the points. I guess we should of booked the BRP. Oh well, SSR should be good too.

Thanks for letting us know. I always wondered if it really did happen! :goodvibes

Wow, my std room at akl changed to the $109.00 or $121.54 with tax for our January 2006 long weekend stay.

How exciting!! I am booked at the Poly in January. I will have to go check my rate. This is great news!! :earsboy:

So this makes you guys think that the PIN discount is about to be released as public? I take it that PIN discounts don't count towards the Best Rate plan, that only "public" rates apply, so this rate should be public soon?? :confused3 Am I on the right track?

Thanks not as good as the AP rate we had for this past Jan in a savanna view room but much better than rack rate.

HLAuburn: correct. PIN codes are not considered "public" rates.

For the AKL BRP rate to be lowered to that point, that suggests (though it does not guarantee) that WDW is going to be offering a rate of 109/night during the same time frame "to the public".

I hope you are right. My friends are looking to go (if they can get a good rate) and if they can get it will be there with us.

Let's keep our fingers crossed. (we have AP but they don't so they will have to use the open to puplic rates. They called before and they didn't have a pin next to their profile.)

Hope you are right!!!!!! :goodvibes

For the BRP to be the "Best Rate" wouldn't the public offering have to be slightly higher, can it be the same??

Thanks to the OP for posting this thread. We have been thinking of a trip the last weeked in Jan. (DKs have a long weekend). POR was $99 last night and tonight it was $79 so I booked it for four nights. :cool1:

I am so excited. Now off the get airfare.

Just checked my ressie. I have Savannah view at AKL for Jan 29-Feb4th and mine dropped approx $150 for entire trip. Every little bit helps. :cheer2: :cheer2:

91 days and counting!!!

Sorry to ask this, too much excitement for a Saturday morning. Do you think the 109 is going to be for room only and can be changed from a AAA rate or is the 109 from a postcard that is arriving.

Also, does anyone know when this will happen before 11/3?

Thanks to you all. :sunny:

That's the way I thought it worked. The BRP should be the lowest rate, period.

No. BRP is the lowest public rate. In other words, it is the lowest rate available to the general public, without memberships, PIN codes, specific targeted discount promotions, etc. It's the rate for a specific room on specific dates that anyone would be able to get, and in the case of BRP, anytime from the time the BRP is booked until the the trip occurs.
