BRP true to their promise.

No. BRP is the lowest public rate. In other words, it is the lowest rate available to the general public, without memberships, PIN codes, specific targeted discount promotions, etc. It's the rate for a specific room on specific dates that anyone would be able to get, and in the case of BRP, anytime from the time the BRP is booked until the the trip occurs.

You're right, I just thought it was understood that we were talking about a public rate release here. Thanks for the clarification, though.

My suspicion is that BRPs are going down because a public rate is *probably* coming out, and BRP will have to match it. (And, I thought it was "match" not "exceed" but I could be wrong.)

Of course, Disney could just be in a benevolent mood, but I wouldn't count on it. ;)

;) Benevolence isn't possible in a zero-sum scenario like this: Whatever they give to customers they have to take away from the folks relying on their DIS investment to pay for their retirement...

I checked my Poly AP rate and it is still the same. It is $273.18 per night. Mine did not drop. How about anyone else? Did it just drop for certain hotels. I only made this reservation on Tuesday, so I don't know if I have the going rate or not. Thanks! :earsboy:

Just checked my WL woods view rate it went down. :Pinkbounc
Saved approximately $120 for the whole trip.

When are you going?

I noticed that if I move my Feb stay to Jan, instead of paying $150.53 a night, I would pay $121.54 a night for AKL-Standard. Thats $107 off a night.

In my notes I'm showing 273.18 as the 'old' Poly BRP rate. I'm pretty sure it had gone down when I checked yesterday, but since we're not staying there I didn't write down the new rate...I'm thinking it was somewhere around 250.00 but I could be wrong. What are your dates? Try going through the BRP booking process as if you're making a new reservation and see what price you get that way.

Yup, January is typically less expensive than February. It's a great time of year to visit.

For the BRP to be the "Best Rate" wouldn't the public offering have to be slightly higher, can it be the same??

I would think that the "public" rate would need to be slightly higher.

My dates are Jan. 2nd - Jan. 7th. I hope they drop. That would be great news. If not, I am still thrilled to be going to DISNEY!! :earsboy:

According to mousesavers, the dates that "dropped" were 1/16/06-2/4/06.
Anyone have any dates out of that window that dropped as well?

HLAuburn,

I have been checking almost every date sequence that I can think of and Jan 16-Feb 4 seems to be the only ones.

Thanks Jason.

So if you all had to guess, for us non-APers, do you think these will be room-only rates released to the public, or part of a package?

I'm so glad the BRP is working for all of you...and it gives me hope for a good deal, too!

Wow, I'm hoping this is a good sign........ DH just asked........."should we get an AP" to get this rate!!!! I'm hoping we can get this good of a deal without going that route.

We have AKL standard booked for Jan. 29 thru Feb. 3rd. I'm hoping the discount becomes "public" so we can have it applied. But, for those with the BRP rate............ WOW, that's awesome, glad you got it!!!

HLAuburn,

It's hard to tell. Before BRP rates went down I would say package, but because they did go down, that could mean a room only.

Decisions, Decisions. Who would have thought that AKL would be available for $121.54 a night in January.
