Brought The Rabbits Inside Today

During one of my shoveling off the deck trips . . .I walked on over to see how my two rabbits were doing . . .

Needless to say I ended bringing them both inside . . .the wind and blowing snow was really bad and they looked so cold!

They are each in their own bathtub . . .one upstairs, one down (male/female, we don't need no babies!) Hope they don't get used to their accomodations . . .I'm pretty sure they are loving it!

They each have their own blankie and their food and water . . .But tomorrow they are back in their hutches . . .and I have some tub cleaning to do . . .ewwwwwwww

Gotta keep the bunnies warm and give them lotsa lovins.

Be careful moving your rabbits- causing severe temperature changes. I have owned bunnies for 8 years- as long as their hutches are sufficient and they are left outside YEAR round they can withstand temperatures well below zero.

Our rabbit lives in a cage in the family room. When we first bought him, the pet store said they had to be inside animals. Is that not right? I know it would be too late for this one to be moved outside now, but who knows in the future. I can bet we'll have rabbits as long as the kids are little....they do make wonderful pets.

I have a Netherland Dwarf and a Mini-lop and they have always been outside bunnies. If you were to put them out late in the spring so they could build their coat naturally -as they would in the wild, they can live outside. My "boys" are 8 years old now.

I love buns. I wish I could get one. They can be litter trained, and I used to Bunny-sit for my boss at the time. Elvis got a whole room to himself when he "visted".

I would be careful of leaving them outside if you have a problem with wandering dogs in the neighborhood or live somewhere that there are larger animals roaming.

Please let them stay inside. It just sounds too cold for those poor babies to be outside.
