Maybe I can spare a little advice having been in a similar situation.
Rewind two years, and it's December 10th. I'm studying for finals and my family is packing for our second Christmas in Disney. When it happens. A quick mis-step and I have a Jones Fracture. I fractured my fifth metatarsal - the pinky toe. Now, unfortunately, the higher the fracture, the longer it takes to heal. Not a ton of blood goes to the pinkie toe, and the higher it is, the longer it will take to heal.
My mom was nervous, and nearly canceled the trip. I was put into a walking boot and honestly, by the time I got to Disney, I was able to walk with very little discomfort. We got an EMV, as although I could walk, I wasn't supposed to be on my foot much. When I laid down, my foot killed me up to the ankle, but I had also sprained my ankle so that may have been the problem.
Long story short, (shorter), I was feeling much better by the time of the trip. Disney was so awesome with the EMV. I got an EMV with crutches holder so I can get to rides with no room for an EMV. When I went on some rides, they transferred me to a wheel chair and had the EMV waiting when I got back.
Anyway, Disney really goes head over heels to help those who really need help. It's unfortunate when people take advantage of this - a reason that made me feel really uncomfortable using the EMV (of course, people see a kid with an EMV and think they're being lazy or messing around).
