Broken Suitcase Wheel

You lend your casserole dish to Nancyg56 Monday and she gives it back to you Thurday, then you lend it to aaarcher86 Thursday and she gives it back to you Saturday, then you lend it to me Saturday and when you get it back Sunday one of the cups is broken. Now, I may not have used all (any of) the punch glasses, but you point it out to me that same and I buy you a new punch bowl set.

You point it out to me in April? No.

I totally get and agree with what you're saying but I'm still giggling like a 7 year old that it started out as a casserole dish and it ended with you thinking about buying a punch bowl set.

I guess we know what kind of bunch was in the bowl, don't we?

Well I check my things as soon as they are returned to me and address any damage right away. But that is me. My point was that if it is broken in someone else's care, they are responsible for making it right. It is also my responsibility to address it in a timely manner.
The post I referenced basically said "stuff sometimes gets broken and it is not anyone's fault". I disagree with that point.

At this point though no one knows where the original damage occurred. And proving something this far after the fact is like pointing to a book and saying "Prove it was opened 45 days ago."

If we're gonna keep this accurate, you're probably never getting your casserole/punch set back from me in the first place.

Well, there ya go. It started as a casserole dish and ended up as a punch bowl three loans later. Go figure out who to blame for that a month or more later! :rotfl2:

LOL! I find it funny that you think that if you lend my your casserole you may get it back!!!!! LOL! No one lends me anything but cool whip containers, and they make sure I only get the old ones.

That's because I liked the casserole dish so much I lent my own broken punch set out instead! LOL! !!!

I view luggage wheels, handles, and zippers as collateral damage as a result of traveling. Unless I road trip everywhere and stay in hotels that doesn't have bell services, I pretty much figure something is going to break. It's unfortunate but I would never go back a month later and say "Hey Jet Blue, your luggage handlers that were working Flight 43 from JFK to MCO a month ago, broke the wheel off my samsonite, so buy me a new suitcase."

Nice. So you "acquire" the casserole dish, replace it with a defective punch bowl set (see? I'm not losing my mind - the loaned item DID morph!) and I get blamed!

It was kind of like reading a transcript of that "telephone" game...except that the same person made the change!

Blame it on Nancy, though. I must have loaned her a casserole dish in the past and it "magically' transformed itself...

Of course things sometimes just break. The handle on my dd princess suitcase just broke off a couple weeks ago. It was getting worn from use and one day it just broke. I've been rolling suitcase down the sidewalk and the wheel breaks. It just happens.

Hey, are you my mother-in-law? We have a lot of her Cool Whip containers!!! :D

So you wheeled the suitcase down to Bell Services and when you retrieved it from the ME bus it was broken? I guess I would still contact your resort and see if they can do anything for you. The worst they can say is "no" and that's the same as not asking at all.
Op, you have not answered this question yet. Did you notice the wheel was broken immediately when you retrieved it from the bus? You should have noticed it was broken when you started wheeling the suitcase away from the bus.

Unfortunately, I think your window of opportunity has closed. If you mentioned it to the driver and got his name as soon as you picked up the bag from ME that the wheel was broken and was not broken when you dropped the bag off, you might have some leverage after waiting so long. You would have some proof that the only person who touched the bag between point A and point B was Disney. Even after waiting a month, you would still be able to throw it in that you noticed the wheel broken and told Joe Bus Driver that the wheel was broken to mark the incident.

But, now that you have waited a month, Disney is going to ask why you did not report it immediately and then have reason to deny you compensation because anybody could have handled that suitcase between points A and points C and beyond and broken it during the past month.

Oh, and as a side note, I have only seen one poster who was rude and chastising others on this thread and that is a poster that is intrigued by some islands in the Pacific. All other responses may have been direct, but none were beating up on the OP.
