Bristol Palin and Levi are getting married?

Just had to say...as a Republican who likes Sarah, I do NOT think she will run for President in 2012 and IF she does, it's a dumb idea and she won't win.

I think if you go into a marriage and you are already in marriage counseling, the wedding is doomed.
I am thinking that the marriage counseling that they are talking about is the "pre-marriage" counseling that a lot of churches do and a lot of couples go through, including my DH and I. It is by no means a sign that the marriage is doomed. Quite the opposite.

I have no idea why they want to get married. I really hope it is because they are in love and happy. Like Sarah Palin or hate her, I just can't imagine a mother forcing her daughter to marry a man that has slammed her family in the press all for "image sake".

unbelievable after all his nonsense - especially the Kathy Griffin stuff...

she's someone's mom - about to be a married "woman" - and she can't put on big girl panties and face her mom?!?!? Wow, just wow!

....and, IF she really is pregnant after all the abstinence talk....it just keeps getting better and better:lmao:

the whole thing is just like a really trashy, low class soap opera.

All I can say is that if I were in Bristol's shoes, I wouldn't want to tell her Mom about the engagement in person either. I don't think doing it publicly, on the cover of a magazine is the way to do it though. There are other discret ways she could have told her Mom.

I don't get the sudden announcement out of left field and a quick wedding unless she's pregnant, and if she is, ugh. If she isn't, wouldn't they want to ease back into a public relationship?

I can't see this having anything to do with Sarah Palin and 2012. I don't think it wraps anything up into a nice tidy package; it just makes everyone look like idiots, IMHO.

Call me skeptical, but I don't think they will even make it down the aisle.

They didn't last time, and I sure don't think things have improved for either of them.

Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!

:lmao::rotfl2:

You guys are KILLING ME!!!

Someone in my office emailed us the more TAME Levi Playboy photos and one remark overheard was "How could someone be IN the shower and STILL look dirty??"

That group is one tornado away from a trashed trailer park.popcorn::

I'm sure I'm going to get burned for saying this, but here goes...

At least that out of wedlock baby will be old enough to be a ring bearer at his parents' wedding.

I wonder if they aren't rushing into it because one of them is afraid it won't last so they're rushing it? How long were they dating when she got pregnant? I can't remember.

As someone who had a roller coaster romance with my now DH, I just remember how painful it all was and my heart goes out to most young people in love when they go through ups and downs. Thank God I didn't have a baby to throw in the mix of my confused state.

I guess I hope they know what they are doing, that they are sincere and ready for what marriage takes--esp. being in the limelight that that family is in.

OMG I bet! It didn't even dawn on me that she could be pregnant AGAIN. I didn't think she'd be that stupid! :lmao:

IMO, it has 100% to do with 2012.

Could be, but I hope not, for our sakes  Today Joy Behar on the View said the same thing and Elisabeth and that nutty guest host jumped down her throat.

That wasn't the full quote from Sarah Palin.

This is from People.com:

Sarah Palin, 46, who is currently hiking Mount McKinley with her family, issued a statement, saying, "Bristol, at 19, is now a young adult. As parents we obviously want what is best for our children, but Bristol is ultimately in charge of determining what is best for her and her beautiful son. Bristol believes in redemption and forgiveness to a degree most of us struggle to put in practice in our daily lives. We pray that, as a couple, Bristol and Levi’s relationship matures into one that will allow Tripp to grow up graced with two loving parents in his life."

I think leaving off that last sentence makes it seems more harsh than it really is.

I wonder why Matt Lauer didn't read the whole quote? It does change it but I didn't think her statement was harsh, really. I do believe in forgiveness, I struggle with it in my own life and I'm sure it will be a hard thig for the other family members to do.
Biblically, you must forgive to be forgiven. And that doesn't even mean the offender has to say "sorry". I hope they can forward and forgive and trust each other (all parties) because it seems like a tough row to hoe.

Wow, I'm surprised. I just saw a photo spread in a mag at the doc's office where she is quoted as saying: "He's a stranger to me."

Me, too!!! I had to go look it up because I swear it wasn't that long ago. The article where she says he has nothing to do with her or their child is dated May 26, 2010. Not even 2 months ago.

I may get flammed, but you know, actually, I think that is a very good statement. There is nothing condemning, mocking, or disparaging in that note. And I think it expresses as much support that parents in Sarah and Todd Palin's position can give.

I think it's patent PR. No way she even knows what those words mean.:surfweb:
