Sure. You do understand that some families do care about that stuff, right?

Absolutely!

Sure. You do understand that some families do care about that stuff, right?

Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!
Personal attack? Really? Wow! I didn't see it that way.
Thought it was you two were just disagreeing. I thought personal attacks were insults or being sarcastic...and stuff like that.
Mickey's Minion said:I think it was kind of a personal insult when he said "we don't care what you think". Not quite a personal attack yet, but coming close. But hey, to each their own.
I guess you do not have a 19yodd? I do. Wait until your nieces are older before you go off on a tangent preaching how wonderful they are.
You really need to get off the mail thing. My dd could care less if we open her mail. You do realize some families are close and work together, right? We are not petty like that and don't understand people that actually give a crap about someone opening their mail. It boogles my mind that this is an issue for you. How is that for the flipside?
As far as teens and sex, people are free to preach what they want and they do, esp. parents. Now whether anyone listens is another matter.![]()
I've found that disagreeing with some folks is more problematic than with others. That's why I lurk but seldom post here.
No need to imply personal attacks. I haven't leveled any attacks toward anyone.
And I actually said we don't care about what you think about her. Your earlier comment was a quick way for you to say that, although you don't agree with her politics, you don't think she deserves this experience....while being able to slip in a jab and call her a moron at the same time.
Although I am a conservative, I'm actually not a fan of hers. I personally think she'd be the wrong choice for POTUS or VP, but I certainly wouldn't call her names.
But, hey, to each their own. Right?
When I was 17 my first bank was the same as my mother so they sent both our bank statemets in the same envelope. My mother went balistic pointin out that she didn't need to see my bank account. Why do you want to read some one else's mail why invade their privacy? As for 19 that is an adult so again why invade someone else's privacy.
I'll admit, if Bristol & Levi do a reality show, I'll watch it.I wonder if Bristol will allow Kathy Griffin to make an appearance?

I have to admit I would watch at least the first episode too. Train wrecks, like Toddlers and Tiaras and Kate+8 are such bad shows, but strangely entertaining. Which I guess is why they are so popular![]()
I can't watch shows like that. They give me anxiety. If I want updates I can watch Chelsea Lately, The Soup, or the radio for my info.
I do watch things like Top Chef, Biggest Loser, Project Runway, etc....
I guess because it is a competition like a game show. AHA!
Why you keep assuming you know my political leanings is beyond me. There are many other reasons besides political views to view somebody as an idiot. If I wanted to say that I did not agree with her politics, I would have. There are a whole slew of reasons I have developed the view that I have of her, least of all involving her politics.
FWIW - politics is a forbidden subject on the DIS. I don't know why you keep trying to force the thread into a political discussion. This is a thread about a mother, daughter, soon-to-be husband, and a baby. And the dynamics of how that is all working. I don't recall you posting your thoughts on this marriage, just digs at people and trying to goad them into revealing their political leanings.
If you want to discuss politics, then I suggest you find a political board to share with.
And yes, I think Sarah and Todd Palin are moronic, right in the same stratosphere with Mel Gibson (whom, btw I have no idea what his politics are, so my view is not based on politics.) And I don't think they deserved the treatment they received from her daughter.
My next suggestion would be that if you are so not interested in my views, then quit quoting me, addressing me personally and trying to derail the thread into a political discussion about Palin's politics.
That is what I heard too, that Bristol requested camo vests.they are reporting that Levi and the baby will supposedly wear camo to the wedding
ETA: I guess it is just camo vests, still.....
stay classy guys!!!!!![]()
Fair enough. I don't know your politics, but since she is most easily recognized as a political figure, the name-calling seemed to originate from that arena. You are correct. People can be compelled to call other people names for reason other than politics. Why you keep assuming you know my political leanings is beyond me. I know the rule against political discussions here, and I agree with them. The topic was originally the fact the Bristol and Levi are marrying, and had nothing to do with her "moronic" parents, although there was some sympathy expressed for the entire family. Again, you are right about something. I don't care about the marriage at all. I was simply passing by, and noticed the unsolicited dig at one of the parents of the subject.Mickey's Minion said:FWIW - politics is a forbidden subject on the DIS. By now, I've no doubt of this.Mickey's Minion said:And yes, I think Sarah and Todd Palin are moronic,

I'll happily stop quoting you, if you'll please stop quoting me. The thread was moving along fine before the name calling started.Mickey's Minion said:My next suggestion would be that if you are so not interested in my views, then quit quoting me, addressing me personally and trying to derail the thread into a political discussion about Palin's politics.

Wonder is she will wear one over her dress to hide the alleged baby bump.
But a whole camo themed wedding would be very classy!
