Honestly, I see it from another angle. I think Sarah is behind it 100%. She needs to have this pesky teen unwed mother thing wrapped up nicely before she begins her run for president in 2012. I think she said "hey kids, this is what we're gonna do..."

The kid gets married and there is one less smudge on her family record to deal with during the race.

I was thinking the same thing when I read it. Any more blunt and she would be saying outright "My daughter is crazy and now I'm going to be strapped with a psycho son-in-law! Pray for us!!"

I wish them all of the best too. Being a young mother is never easy, especially when the eyes of the world are upon you and you have the pressure of living up to the expectations of your parents and "protecting their image".

I also wish that Mrs. Palin will be kind enough to make sure a really good Pre-Nup is drafted which protects her daughter, her grandson, and their privacy in the event of a divorce.

Well I think what happened is that mommy dearest got in the middle of them to begin with and it ended the way it did. Then she realized that if she wanted to go for the presidency she needed Bristol to be married and knows that these 2 love each other and decided they must get married. Plus It think she likes to be in the spot light!

Which is probably why they want a quick wedding!!! Honestly, they had a child together, now they're getting married. I think abstaining at this point is useless, but whatever floats their boat. Hope they make it.

I enjoy the cynical thinking that this marriage is so Ms. Sarah Palin may run for President in 2012 with no outstanding ‘family issues’.

However, after thinking about it, I doubt Ms. Palin had anything to do with it for these reasons: 1) the enmity between Ms. Palin and Levi is well known. I believe that Levi has even ‘sold Palin secrets’ in return for cash (I know he threatened to at one point). If Ms. Palin went to Levi and promised him rewards for his marrying Bristol, that simply gives him ‘blackmail’ power. Indeed, Ms. Palin would forever be in his power.

2) it does seem that Bristol and Levi kept it secret from Bristol’s parents, at least until announcing same on nationwide television. That is inconsistent behavior with the thought that Ms. Palin is behind the marriage. “You two get married so I won’t look like an idiot on the campaign trail. Oh! And go on nationwide television and say that you haven’t told me yet because you are scared of me!”

Here is my cynical opinion: Bristol and Levi came up with the idea to get married so they can ‘pitch’ a reality show (following them as they prepare for marriage, etc). They want money.

I am really suprised that so many people blame Sarah Palin for things her daughter does. Parents can only teach, not watch over them 24/7.

she's someone's mom - about to be a married "woman" - and she can't put on big girl panties and face her mom?!?!? Wow, just wow!

....and, IF she really is pregnant after all the abstinence talk....it just keeps getting better and better
