GAME TIME!

I am in charge of organizing game time for us...

We have Pinochle
Hand and Foot
Scrabble
Rummikube
Dominos

For those who are interested please send me an email with which games you would like to play and your stateroom number. I will compile the info and get us together when on the ship. My email address is: dairyou@surewest.net

Game On!

Deb

Giving this a bump for those who may not have seen this post. I have 5 or 6 stateroom numbers already. I think there are a few more that posted earlier that still maybe interested.

Anyone else?

Deb, if you set a specific time to meet and do the game time, let me know (or even if you have one gathering early on for those interested) and I'll put it in the list of events. I do have space on the list for items that don't have dates or times, so if you want I can include your cabin number to call for folks interested. Let me know by e-mail by next Sunday. Thanks!

Tracy

Nothing to say except that we are way too important to be so far down the page this close to the cruise.

Whiskers, Since you are going to be there Labor Day Weekend I would avoid AK at all costs. I wasn't kidding about gridlock. We DH and family friends stood on one of the paths for over 15 minutes waiting for the crowd to move. We would have done better but we had a stroller in the group. Took at least 45 minutes to get from Asia to the exit from the park. One other thing, the largest gift shop can be very confusing. In our case I went in DH (not a shopper) sat on a bench outside the door. I left by the same door I went in, at least I thought I did. When I came out no DH. Took 10 minutes of wandering to find him. :confused3 :worried:
Erica, Phil and I are interested in the DVD of the trip. Please put us on the list. Thanks for doing this.

I would have to cast my vote for MGM too, it's my favorite! It's small enough that you would be able to see most of the "big" stuff in one day. Don't miss Tower of Terror, Rockin' Rollercoaster, & Fantasmic. Ride 'em once for me, I won't get the opportunity until Thanksgiving, poor me! :rotfl2:

Thanks you guys! I knew I could get good advice if I asked! :sunny:
Estelle - I had heard AK is hot and if it is that gridlocked I think we'll pass.
Now I can spend the day reading about MGM (I'm sitting on the couch trying to rest and get rid of this nasty middle ear infection before I have to go on the plane and have my eardrum explode!) :earseek:
Thanks everyone :goodvibes

Nearly there now, did some last weekend shopping for the cruise packing and just three days left at work, before flying to Vegas on Thursday for the start of our holiday, All tickets both UK and DCL are in, so just a bit of last minute organising.

Then is Vegas, Grand Canyon, Hollywood, before Disneyland and the cruise, why do the last few days before a holiday go so slow, but the last few days of a holiday go so fast??

Andrew and family, What a way to start a Disney cruise - with a whole other holiday before it! I heard that Tony Bennett was playing the Hollywood Bowl the other night. Had you planned seeing concerts or shows while you were in Hollywood or Vegas. In Vegas, my vote would be for the Cirque do Soleil 'O', which is just the best Cirque show we've seen. Hope you have a very safe journey and enjoy your pre-cruise time. We are counting down now, just one week and 3 days left before we leave.

See you then.

I'm teaching 8th grade Sunday School this summer (yes, I am totally crazy!) Today the youth minister came in to "remind" them that in 2 weeks it will be promotion day and they will officially become part of the high school group. The kids got into "does that mean that we have to get a new teacher? Every time we get someone they leave us, etc...."

I just told them that while they were in the auditorium having promotion Sunday, I would be in the Pacific Ocean enjoying a well deserved vacation. This, of course, got into "where are you going, etc." The best comment was from a very intelligent boy who asked, "How long is this trip?" Then I had to own up to 3 days at DL too.....

I told them that I'd wish them well on their promotion NOW because on that particular day and time I was planning to be at a deck party up by the Goofy pool with all the other "fools."

I packed my formal stuff....now to get DD to try on her stuff.....

Ahh there's the rub in our house. I'll probably be packing my DD frantically the night before departure. :rotfl:

Our Doc's arrived yesterday !
Yeah !
Now if some one would just come over and pack for us we would be all ready !

I FINALLY found a pair of black sandals that I can wear for more than 1 hour! ;) They are not very dressy, but they do feel good! I have been to 15 shoe stores and have purchased 6 pairs. I have returned all but 2 pairs. One more goes back tomorrow and I think I will call it good. I figure my shoes won't show up in any photos so who cares. I can dance the night away and not have sore feet! :goodvibes

I did purchase one pair of flats from Walmart. They feel pretty good if I use my arch supports. Boy, do I sound old. Actually, I just hate sore feet and I wear Birkenstock's 85% of the time so all other shoes pale in comparison. :confused3 Thanks to a fellow fool for the Walmart suggestion. DD got a pair of tennis shoes that she loves! (Bratz)

Has anyone ever used a day room at the Hyatt? We were going to rent a car and drive around Orlando before our flight. We have decided to use a day room, shop at the airport, use their pool and hang out for the day. We want to end on a relaxing note and not feel rushed to get back to the airport, etc. etc. Is anyone else doing this?

We aren't doing the Hyatt this time, but we did last time and it was very nice to be able to crash on the bed and nap a little bit, use the pool, watch TV. If you do this, remember to put the swimsuits, coverups, and SUNSCREEN where you can easily find them. Last trip I spend a half hour looking for the darned sunscreen and coverups, since DD got fried at Castaway Cay. The pool is on the roof and there isn't much in the way of shade.

Rsschneck, I have had two surgeries on my feet and wear orthotics. When it comes to wearing dress shoes I am in trouble. My orthotics do not fit in a dressy pair of open toed shoes plus I am never to be with out them. I wear birks or tennis shoes most of the time. Birks are so ugly but at least they feel good! I found earlier this summer that Walmart has some shoes that I can wear for a brief time. Not beautiful but will do.

After the cruise we are renting a car, driving to downtown disney and also the Premium outlet stores by downtown disney and then fly home.

Val, we are flying home Frontier on Saturday. What airline are you on?

Tony Bennett will be at the Hollywood Bowl on August 12 and 13. We had the pleasure of seeing him a couple of years ago at the Hollywood Bowl, which is a wonderful place to picnic and see an outdoor summer concert. Tony Bennett is the consumate performer and really connects with his audience.

I agree. We have seen several Cirque du Soleil shows, and "O" at Bellagio is my favorite. The water stage is so incredible. At one moment, someone will dive into the water, and the next moment someone is riding a bicycle across it.

Okay, today I put my laundry detergent in baggies since I cant find Whisk tablets any longer. Rolled up my quarters and filled out my request to hold mail for the post office.

Little by little I'm getting there :)

Must be the same flight as you, Frontier's 6:20 flight, Saturday evening. We're spending the morning and afternoon at DD also, maybe see you there along with Melinda, who's doing the same thing too!

I called DCL today and was told that they WON'T send the missing Bahamas immigration forms...I can pick them up at the port and they won't take any time at all to fill out. I'll try later and hope for a different CM. Tried telling her that I wanted everything done in advance...no help.

The real reason I'm writing is that there is no reason for this thread to be off page 1.

See you real soon......

Hmmm - shopping sounds like more fun that any of my WDW park ideas :teeth:
Sandy - tell me more about those outlet stores! Are they very close to Downtown Disney? We will have a rental car. I also have to find an EBgames or something after the cruise. Nintendo releases a new DS game about dogs on Aug 22 - the boys are most upset it's not out before we go.
