Anyone else getting nervous about packing? I usually take 2 big suitecases on a week long cruise. But with a week in Paris and then getting on the train, I don't want to be lugging that much around. How am I going to survive a week in Paris then 2 weeks on the ship with 1 suitcase (or however I end up limiting myself)?

I know I can do laundry. But geez, you guys are going to get sick of seeing me in the same clothes. :rotfl2:

Figure it this way ....a total of 8 days at sea = bathing suit and t shirt ....no need for extra packing ..I figure thats 8 days that I dont have to pack underwear :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Um - I'm hoping that you will be bring lots of underwear :rotfl: :rotfl:

Welcome aboard - Robsmom - we had a couple of first time disneycruisers last time too :goodvibes One word of warning - you will be spoiled by the two week cruise - after it all the other cruises are too short :rotfl2:

We are planning on one large suitcase pp - with a carryon - for our neice (just bought the princess rolling carryon for her from disneyshopping) and a garmet bag - for each of the adults. Just purchased a new suitcase too - one of the extra light ones - so hopefully we will stay under the 50 pd rules.

We are also saving the small plastic peanut butter jars to put laundry detergent in -- one of the highlights of the PC crossing was wandering down to our state room on the crossing day - around 4 (we were waiting to get into the Gatun locks) and finding EMPTY machines :lmao: :lmao: :laundy:

yes, i have been concerned about packing--we also have a 9 yr old girl and a 3yr old boy to pack for--interestingly enough when we travel, my husband's bag is the heaviest!!!!! does anyone know the bag weight limits? (i know when we flew to rome last summer there were differnt bag weights depending on which city you flew into--some were 75#, some were 50#--united states straight to rome was 75#--but i think some people flew thru the u.k{i think} and they were limited to 50#). any packing tips would be greatly appreciated!

:) Packing Hint:

Remember - you are going to be buying souvenier shirts :)

Dining: Mix & Match wardrobe for casual dining nights. I brought more blouses and mixed & match with pants & skirts for different looks.

I always say I'm going to pack light, but no matter how hard I try, it's a struggle. Last summer we were doing one week in parks and a one week cruise. Last minute I tugged 4 pairs of shoes out of the suitcase, boy did that lighten the load. I really was sick of my shoes by the end of the vacation though.

Formal wear, Palo wear, and pirate wear and princess wear adds up.

We just bought new luggage yesterday. We got 3 of the 24" and 1 of the 20" Victorinox Werks Traveler 2.0 and got a pretty good deal. Gotta love the outlets.:cool1:

This is a write-up that I found about the luggage. These bags are so much lighter than what we had.

The Victorinox Werks Traveler 2.0 is one of the lightest and most durable luggage lines available. The Werks Traveler offers breakthrough design and progressive materials that deliver a collection that is 30% lighter than the average wheeled bag, while offering up to 20% more packing capacity. The breathtaking features of the Werks Traveler are offered at an exceptional value.

ETA - I also got this anti-theft bag - http://www.corporatetravelsafety.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=97

Okay, I thought I posted this last night but it 'disappeared'!

DH and I did a 'test' with our luggage - we both took 'duffle' type bags on our 11/11 cruise - even fully packed - they weighed 29 and 30 pounds each.....so we feel pretty comfortable in being able to pack for the 2 week. We did have a 'regular' rolling suitcase for 'hard' stuff - toiletries, snorkeling gear, SHOES and we will bring one of those, too....but our '4th' bag will probably be another 'duffle' type that we will just throw in one of the other bags.

shoes, shoes, shoes.....I really found my crocs to be incredibly comfortable

Here are my 'party crocs'

and I just bought these for other 'dress-up' occasions

and my touring/pool/hanging out crocs

My plan is to stuff them with socks/underwear and pack them in the duffles, they are extremely light but bulky......
Don't you just love the plannig?????:dance3:

What , you dont have any Disney Crocks????

Never thought about just brining my crocs. I do have 4 pair, so I can pretty much match anything. Now if they just had some high heeled crocs to wear with my formal dresses, I'd be all set.

I used to be a different outfit for every day, different outfit for dinner type of girl. Guess I'll have to break myself from that, but it's going to be hard. Part of the fun of a cruise for me was to dress up for dinner. I'll just have to get creative with mix and match. Oh darn, guess I'll have to go shopping!

Only 47 more to a mini pirate pirate:

GrayFal--do you already have the prima shoes--are the small holes large enough to put in jibbitz? (they do have little gem stones--that would add some bling)

for the next few days, ebags has the desey helium 30 inch rolling duffel bag (only wieghs about 7#, has graphite frame) on sale marked down from $200 to $63--if you buy it thru fat wallet, you get another 9% back (plus $5 if it's your first order). that means the bag is only about $54 (for a $200 bag). the bags have a life time warrenty. and if your like me and worried about going over the 50# limit on bags--gotta get new light weight luggage!

Can you post the link ?? Or is it the bag that comes in Yellow Blue red and Black ???? I might have to get some of these ...

pirate:

for some reason the price went back up to 79.00 unless I am doing something wrong ...

pirate:

the yellow bag is not carbon frame, so it weights about 11# (not 7). i just noticed, the price of the bag is up to $71.99 but now it ships free. . .mine wasn't free shipping. still consider buying thru fat wallet to save more!!!
