Finally getting around to planning -- This trip for us is more about being on the ship and self tours than guided excursions. I have found some websites for those looking for self tour info in Barcelona Walki-talki.com has downloadable MP3 self tour of Barcelona and eupropeancitycards.com has tourist attraction cards for Barcelona is includes some admission fees and also gives discounts for other attractions.

actually the info packet is not very informative. . .

has info on renting tux, stateroom gifts, cakes, what to bring, what to wear, vacation protection policy etc.

presentation is nice (typical disney) but info is lacking. . .ie under shore excusions it says bring sunscreen, hat, comfortable shoes, money --then it says to go to their web site for more info well--duh--

the packet is also not directly for med/transatlantic as they mention a splash foutain area for non-potty trained kids--thought this was just on the wonder. . .

so, if you don't get the packet--your not missing much

Wow, you are planning.

BCN We are doing the tour with Jose on Sunday, but I want to do the chocolate museum and the fountain.

Gibalter we are doing the rock and monkeys. Unfortunately we cannot decide whether we are doing it on our own or with DCL

Cadiz I would like to take the train to Seville, but the 4 hour roundtrip makes it difficult to justify and see the flamingca dancers.

Tenerife.. I have been emailing some companies to do a dolphin and whale watching, but have not heard back from them. Otherwise I am at a loss with this stop.

Dee if you need a companion to see the fountain let me know. I am unsure what DH and DGD will want to do especially if they are tired.

my wife really want to go to seville. she seen a show on it on the travel channel. im not crazy about the long bus ride

dcl site says its a 90 minute ride one way

Sounds like nap time to me:cool1:

I remember the ride back from River rafting during the PC repo, I think all of us were asleep at one point or another.

Yeah - it was a very quiet bus on the way back to the ship :goodvibes

Though the look in people's eyes on the way there - when you had to fill out the waiver and emergency forms :rotfl2: :rotfl2: First time I'd ever been asked on a shore excursion for my blood type - and emergency contact info :lmao:

Thanks for sharing. I am going to check and see if they have any other self tour locations we may be at.

First time I'd ever been asked on a shore excursion for my blood type - and emergency contact info :lmao:

I can undestand the reason for that question. I donated blood on a shore excursion once. It was very embarrasing, especially back on the ship when people would stop and say ask how I was because they had witnessed the fall. Did I mention I fell down a hill and landed with my skirt up:o

OUCH!!!!! :) Sounds like something that would happen to ME!

I've got to get organized and start getting some excursions selected ... I've got Paris organized BEFORE the cruise, but almost nothing for the ports while I'm ON the cruise! :scared1:

Hi Suzanne,

My family would like to join this bike tour. I checked out the website and it looks like a great tour. Starting at 9 in the morning might also mean cooler weather and time to do something else in the afternoon. Thanks for putting it together. It's me, DH and DD who's 10.

ellen

I have added you to the list. The early hour should help with the heat, and with the traffic. The last stop is the beach, so we can take a dip if we need to! :thumbsup2

so. . .we can get on the boat sat. . .but the boat doesn't leave til sunday night--when is life boat drill (can't remember the real name)--will it be late sunday night?????

I'M SURE IT WILL BE, SHORTLY AFTER THE BOAT ACTUALLY SAILS ON SUNDAY.

life boat drill will be one hour before sailing thats what it saids in the packet i just got. if they wait like you said shortly after the boat sails they will recieve hefty fines. it has to be before we sail.
