Bringing Home the Magic - Part 2 - 8/18/07 - 9/01/07- list of cruisers on page 1

I just booked the west bound repo!!! I'll be traveling with either 3 or 6 of my girls, depending on decisions made tonight. I have to pay tomorrow. We had such a great experience on the way over that my husband decided we needed the girls to have the same experience.

I'll be travelling sans hubby, but since we did our own thing on the boat anyway and rarely saw each other, I'm thinking it won't be a real shock to my system to travel without him.

Coming across the ocean and then seeing things I normally wouldn't make the effort to go see see--Teneriffe and the Rock--I just really had an EXPERIENCE. It wasn't just a vacation. My decision to take the cruise back, instead of booking a med cruise was based on that. I want my kids to see these slightly obscure places. I figure they can see Italy and France another time, even without a boat. Strange thinking maybe.

The seas were quite rough on the way over, but isn't that part of a cruise? They have fine hotels and food on land that DON"T move and planes and trains to take one there. I LOVE the rocking of the boat. It just adds to the excitement. It is hard on the body--even when you don't get sick, and I didn't--there is just a constant readjustment of footing and such. I only gained 2 pounds though and ate EVERYTHING in sight, so I figure all the readjustment exercise was a good thing!

Okay, but I don't want to be a "been there, done that" person. I am hoping and searching for a different experience on the way back.

Hey Gydell! I sure enjoyed you on the eastbound!

Im finding it hard to sleep now without the rocking of the boat lol. I miss it.

After reading all the great information on Gibralter about the taxi tours, I think we are going to try that route. We like the idea of less walking up a rock:lmao:
If you have ever been to stone mountain GA, you would know what I mean:rolleyes1

Does anyone know if this group is doing any type of arm bands? On our last cruise we all ordered these lime green wrist bands and got them after the sail away party. During the cruise it was easy to spot our fellow disers:thumbsup2

Good point is anyone doing them? Are we having lanyard and things this time or just using the ones we have?

Ok I guess I'd better come online and introduce myself - I am Laura AKA eeyorelvr10 and as of 5 pm PST today, I am officially on this cruise. I'm in that big cat 12 room that a lot of people seem to have.

Now, I have to step out for a while but I'm assuming that if I go to page 1 I can find someone to pm my info too? Or else some of you wonderful people will point me in the right direction. Thank you and am looking forward to sailing with you all.

Anything of importance I should know about?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the team. Roll on 18th August.

Yesterday I booked all the flights and a hotel for the 17th August so Im ready to go now. Please upgrade me Disney? Roys Suite will do (OK I am joking).

What is everyone considering for possible sea sickness? Prescription for the patch or just OTC bonine ? I will be getting something because the only time I have ever been sea sick was on a Celebrity cruise to Bermuda from Baltimore during sea day in the Atlantic. That was not fun!!

Try getting pure ginger tablets from a health food store.... this worked great for us,and now DCL has gingerale available, I requested it for my drink at dinner.[/QUOTE]

Anyone know where I can buy these sea sickness patches in the UK? I wore the bands on the first cruise and now have great suntan marks so I want to try these patches instead. Help me please????

Lindsay

:woohoo:

I don't know about the UK but in the U.S. you need a prescription from your Doctor.

Compared to the reports I've heard from the CC members and their booking problems, I think I fared pretty well this morning. Got up at midnight pacific, loged in right away, but got kicked out as I was trying to book a Cabana massage. About 45 min later I was finally able to get back in. Got my massage and all the excursions I wanted, but had to take a PM slot on 1 because the AM was full. Unfortunately all the Palo Brunch and Tea ressies were gone. All that was left was dinner and those were all on port nights, so I passed on that. I'm hoping brunch or tea will open up.

You can book Palo on the boat the first day, but do it asap. I had no ressies getting on the boat and booked dinner and brunch easily. Some said that they had problems booking brunch, though. I won't book this time, simply because I wasn't that impressed last time.

I think we need lanyards like the last cruise. It made identifying each other so much easier, and everytime you saw that lanyard, you knew you were seeing a friend. It was very cool and unifying--made the sea days more fun to me.

I didn't do everything with the group, but always ran into someone to hang out with for awhile. And when one of us won something, it felt like the whole group had succeeded. It was fun.

Are you guys planning lanyards??? The double dip cruise is investigating them. Ken is still cruising, so we can't ask him YET. Depending on the number of us, they cost between 1 dollar and 2.50, according to Erik on the double dip.

we just need one very motivated and willing person or persons to put the lanyard project in motion.

I was just checking on the lanyards and there is a limit on characters. I did "Bringing home the "Magic" with DCL and that was the max characters. Does anyone have any ideas of what we should out on there? If we left it at this we could use it for both this and the PC eastern (for those on that one). The cost looks to be around 1.00 each with a badge holder. You have to order min of 100 for the lanyards.

As for colors. We could do green with white letters for strictly DIS or we could do red with yellow for DCL

Just thought I would post some food for thought.

YOO HOO CHRIS AKA GRANDMAX3!

 don't know if I let you know but can you put me down for 1? I think I may have posted but not sure. Trying to double check myself.

Hi Laura,
I'm so happy you decided to come along on this cruise - we are just going to have TOO MUCH FUN!!!! & I've got you on the list!!!!

I would happily do one of these cruises on my own to be honest as you are so busy and people are so friendly you dont spend long on by yourself anyway. Feel free to tag along with us by the pool etc if you want company. We dont intend to get off the boat this time. LOL.

Lindsay:grouphug:

Thanks Lindsay - I am very touched by your hospitality and generosity.

Hi,
I'm back from Las Vegas. We had a great time.

Had a "mini-meet" w/Todd (DisneyVegas1) - he & his family are simply the BEST!!!

Okay Update:
Today I faxed DCL Inventory Control w/a request for the Palo private room for 14 Ladies - on Aug. 25 for Brunch and Aug. 27 for Afternoon Tea. (those are both sea days) BTW - 14 is the max. for the room.
They will inform me at 30 days out whether they will accomodate the request.

So far the list includes: (me!)

Julie (bellelinus), Sue (happyfeet), Linda (momma4v3),Charmaine & daughter (kugabelle), Monica (got2travel), Laura (eeyorelvr10), (KaseyC), Joan (joanflo), (robsmom)

Have I missed anyone?? I quickly scanned back - but "quickly" is the operative so I might have missed someone!!

That's 11 so far and I don't know who prefers the brunch - or the tea - or both. I want to do both!!

That's the update!
Now I've got to cook dinner!

Hey Chris! I think you may have missed one - Christie - Dopeylover54 - if not - then sign her up anyway! She's going. I'll "twist" her arm if I have too. :lmao:

Ok this was weird - attempt #2.

Chris (:wave2:) can you add Christie AKA Dopeylover 54 (?) to that list. I thin she wanted to go but I may has missed that. Add her anyway since she put me on here - she'll have to deal with my prescence. :rotfl2:

And if that won't work - I'll just twist her arm! :lmao:

That's weird - it didn't show up the 1st time and so I went back and type it and then its shows up. Boy these boards have been weird!

Thanks Laura, I sent her a PM.
Between me twisting your arm to go on the cruise, and you twisting my arm to do the brunch, we both will need a PT after we get back:rotfl2:
