We will be doing Barcelona on our own, as we are arriving several days early.

We plan to tour Gibraltar with a *large* group of friends rather than book Disney's offerings. That place is so small, how hard could it be?

We booked Seville on Your Own in Cadiz.

In Tenerife, we are doing the jeep tour with the same company that Disney is offering through, but we have a large enough group that we could book our own tour, at less than Disney is asking.

We're splitting up in Castaway Cay, parasailing and kayaking. Last time we tried this the weather didn't cooperate and both excursions were cancelled. Hoping for a better outcome this time.

Would also love to meet everyone too ... any plans been made for meeting up?
We keep talking about when to meet, but because of the overnight in Barcelona, it seems to be confused at best. Some folks want to meet immediately on boarding, others would prefer to wait until after the lifeboat drill. What do you think?

Since we'll already be on aboard from the previous two cruises (last 11 & 10 Meds) - onboard would probably be best for us maybe after the lifeboat drill .... need to check we may have a shore excursion that day (Aug 18th) - have to find my list's, what an ordeal trying to keep track of the 3 cruises and what we're doing.;)

What an ordeal - you poor thing!

I have three separate folders too, one for our precruise in Barcelona, another for the cruise, and another for post-cruise in WDW.

what did people get for excursions?
were doing barcelona montserrat half day
cadiz- seville on your own
gibraltor- city under seige
tenerife- tenerife teide and the garden of the valley

Cadiz- Bee and Honey Museum
Gibraltar - The Gibraltar Walking Tour
Tenerife - The jeep Safari (me, DH, DD9, DD10 and DD12)
Tenerife, teide and the Garden of the Valley (DFIL, DMIL)

This is what we are doing:

Barcelona- Discover Barcelona & the Spanish Village
Gibraltar- Also doing this with the same large group of friends as Denerval.
Cadiz- We are doing this on our own
Tenerife- Catamaran Adventure
Castaway- Just heading over to Serenity Beach & relax.

We also booked a Palo brunch & dinner and I was able to book a spa treatment.

I'm one of the lucky ones. It only took me 1 1/2 hours to book (because of the DCL's site crashing all of the time!) Good luck to all of those still trying to get what they want. Pixie dust to all.

Jennifer

Must admit - it's a great 'ordeal' to go through .... :cloud9:

Barcelona: We are doing a private tour on Sunday

Gibraltor: We are booked with DCL for a do it on your own, but we may change that and truly do it on our own.

Cadiz: We are doing the flaminga

Teneriefe: We are booked on the cateraman

Nothing scheduled for castaway cay. yet

As for a meet. I am open to whatever. Maybe we can do a chat or two before hand as well.

glad to see just about everyone got their excursions even though it was more agonizing for some than for others

we are doing the following:

barcelona: fat city bike tour (not thru disney)

gibraltar: walking tour but might cancel and do the rock totally on our own

cadiz: bee and honey

tenefire: catamaran

castaway cay: kayaking and parasailing

just about all the excursions are still open so looks like there was no need to get up at 3 in the morning except to nail down a palo reservation.

our excursions etc

Barcelona and Codorniu Cellars (plus a day on our own, arriving early)
City under seige
Flamenco in Puerto de Santa Maria
Palo High Tea
Catamaran Adventure
Palo Dinner
Palo Brunch

Plus lots of relaxing in cove cafe and on deck 4

contemplating the spa, never had a massage. The couples villa sounds great, looks wonderful, but is very pricey...is it worth it?

This trip celebrates our 20th anniversary (actually it's in November, but why not celebrate now and later  )

anybody doing this one in gibraltar?
In Gibraltar, we took the taxi tour for 30 euros per person. You just have to check the many taxis around the pier and negotiate a price. It was a 2 hour tour and we visited the Pillars of Hercules (overlook to African coast - about 10 minutes), St. Michael's Cave (about 30 minutes), a place where there were a lot of Barbary apes (about 15 minutes), the Great Siege Tunnels (about 30 minutes). After that we were dropped off in the town's main shopping area. There was a shuttle to the ship (I believe for 1 euro) but since it wasn't too hot we just walked (took about 20 minutes). The cost of the tour included the admission tickets to St. Michael's Cave and the Great Siege Tunnels.

Two things to be aware of: 1.) The lines for the cable car up to the Gibraltar sights are long and 2.) It's a long, hilly walk from one sight to another on the mountain. Plus the roads are very narrow so I would definitely recommend a taxi tour.

everyone else get their magnets? of the four magnets there is probaly only one that you would want to put on your fridge. got mine today

It was a waste of $$. We will probably only put the frame on the fridge, the rest were useless. I don't like a lot of things on the fridge anyways.

We got ours, too. 89 days for this cruise but 54 until we arrive in Europe!!! But who's counting?!

I'm a magnet junkie, and I'm taking the framed one to work with me. I have my trip magnets attached to my cubbie cover. It's good to remind myself whay I work.

ejw, what time are you scheduled to parasail? Your family is doing the same excursions we are on CC. We're scheduled at 9, so we'll leave the ship together. Maybe this time DH will remember to reapply the sunscreen to DD....:sad2:

Where comfortable shoes if you are gonna do the kyack. It is quite a long walk to the kyacks and the guide takes you on a island tour first. It was very imformative. DH and I really enjoyed it, but would not have taken the kids or GC.

I did not get any magnets. Heck I have not even received my cc card.

I am not sure about that taxi tour. It sounds like it is a taste of a lot of things.
