What are your opinions on bring a DSLR into the parks and on some of the rides like Big Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Kali River Rapids?

They have lockers at River Rapids which you should use to store your camera.
Not an issue on the other rides. A few drops of water won't hurt a dslr, and keeping it in a camera bag at your feet is easy on all Disney coasters, none are so violent to send a camera bag flying.

I’ll be taking mine along with an extra lens. I’m getting a waterproof case on Amazon just in case. Others have highly recommended it and that would make me feel better. My original case is kinda bulky so I was planning on instead just putting my DSLR in a Ziploc in my backpack but with the waterproof case, my wallet will fit in it and that’s all I need

Thanks! I have a waterproof case too and I think my camera will be okay on everything I am planning to go on.

Thank you for the help! :)

I take my DSLR bare on Splash Mountain - it's a D7k series so it's weather sealed, as are my lenses, and even with it getting pretty wet there's no issues. Only Kali is an issue for a fully weather sealed camera.

For lower end bodies without weather sealing or only partial weather sealing, like a Canon Rebel, Nikon D3k/D5k or Dxx body and/or without a weather sealed lens (most recent Nikkors, can't speak to the Canons), a LowePro AW case is your best friend (they kind of are anyway, they're very good products).

I also use a BlackRapid strap with BRAD so it can stay attached to me no matter what when they're not in the case.

I don't do Kali but I also take my DSLR on Splash Mountain without a case. I do have a raincoat handy though that I wrap it in (and myself - yes, I am a wuss) when the big splash comes. If I don't have it out, I put it in the camera bag and put a raincover on the camera bag. Never had a problem.

I saw that when I was looking this morning, I have a Canon Rebel T5, So I am trying to find out which case would work the best.

I have about a dozen different camera bags and still haven't found the one that works, "Best," for all situations. :D

I tuck a white trash bag into my bag in case of rain or water rides.
Other than that, I just carry my camera cross-body on a comfy strap for the parks.
