Bringing Alcohol on-board

What is the best way to carry it on? In a tote bag or soft-sided cooler? Could you pack it in your luggage or do they prefer it out?

Do not pack in the luggage, it should be carried on with you, and should fit in the x ray scanner at port.

Soft sided cooler is ok.

I always carry on wine wrapped in my t-shirts, shorts, etc. Never had a problem. Don't check it!

we use a rolling soft sided cooler....no ice.....we brought on board with us (Christmas week) Captain Morgan Rum and Miller Lite beer in cans with no problem.

We flew down with an empty carry-on suitcase. We used a car service and stopped on our way from MCO to WDW (for 3 n pre-cruise) to stock up. After WDW we still had 1 1/2 case of beer (in cans) and 1/2 case of bottled water and 1/5 Captain Morgan (found it in plastic at Albertsons). It all fit into the carry-on suitcase. We drank everything on the ship and then had a spare carry-on to use on our return trip home for souvies!!:thumbsup2

I would not plan to take glass. You cannot carry it to the pool deck or onto the beach (or shouldn't anyway) in case of breakage. That would be dangerous to bare feet.

This is how we do it....never a problem:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

What if yopu were flying and taking there shuttle to port.

I was going to try and take a 12pk of beer for DH in the checked luggage.

Is the worst that will happen they will trhow it out?

The problem I see with that plan is with the size of it and with all of the weight restrictions on checked luggage now! First, you'd be using valuable packing space and second, you don't want to be slapped with a $25 over-weight fee for packing a 12 pack of beer!!! That would just not be worth it to me. That's why we opted for the car service VS the DCL bus to the port. We used the DCL bus transfer on our return to MCO, but for MCO to WDW and from WDW to the port we used Happy Limo.:goodvibes

depending on the cruise you're taking, you could buy at the first port. We bought in the FL Keys and brought it on board. I also walked on board with 2 margarita half yards from Mexico :thumbsup2 All the parents gave me bad looks and all the kids were like "cool!":lmao:

Three half gallons earlier this month, no problem!!! I spent $70 on land to save $500 on the ship!

I was just going over cruise docs and it says that you cannot bring a cooler on board so how are people bringing the soft-sided coolers or toter ones? We want to bring a case of water and some beer and wine.

Thank you!

As I understand it from reading other threads, as long as the cooler fits through the x-ray scanner and does not contain any ice or ice packs, which cause condensate, they let you roll them on as a carry on bag.
Happy sailing!

It can't be a hard sided cooler. We opt to use a rolling suitcase insead of a cooler.

We recently cruised the magic Nov8-15, 2008 and I took a plain green army duffle bag through the screening while entering the disney terminal. I had a case of beer and a bottle of wine and a large bottle of vodka in the duffel bag, no problems. Then on the way back i used the duffel bag for extra stuff.
it lies flat or can be rolled up small
