I have heard that there are not enough hangers in the stateroom and we should bring extra hangers ourselves.

However, would our stateroom host/hostess bring us some more if we ask?

There are definitely not enough hangers in the closets. However, we just ask the host and he brings a bunch more. I've never taken my own hangers and don't plan to on cruise number 10.

The only hangers I take are to hang my clothes in the garment bag I take...wire hangers....unfortunately, DW threw all the wire hangers out in our house(Joan Crawford reincarnate hates wire hangers, she opts for the plastic white variety), so I had to borrow some from friends....

I like your wife already!!

Those wire hangers can rust if they are in a storage area and you can't get that type of stain out no matter what "hot" product you use!

NO MORE WIRE HANGERS!

Hubby always brings a bunch of the plastic ones. He is a male Joan Crawford...when we got married and I moved into his place, he immediately got rid of all my wire ones.

I always pack my hanging clothes on hangers. It takes less time to unpack and then I leave them there and have more room in my suitcase for things to bring home!!

We brought about 10 hangers - worked out great for us. We just brought the wire dry-cleaning ones with the paper on them.

Then, at the end of the cruise, we left them there.

This was great advice that we had found from the DIS.

We had about 10 hangers in our closet last week in a cat 4 - more than enough with the 5-6 or so we broguth with us in the garment bag.

I know this is a little off the hanger topic but the wire hangers reminded me to tell you all to save your dry cleaning plastic bags. If you put clothes in the bags before you hang them in the garment bag they will NOT wrinkle.

I don't remember where I learned this tip but I swear that it works. ::yes::

Great tip, GeneralMax! Will have to do it next time around. I usually bring the Downy Wrinkle spray but this is a great tip to prevent those wrinkles!

I have a set of "huggable hangers" I bought from home shopping. They are very think but covered in a suede-type fabric. I pack all our hanging clothes with those in the garment bag and then just lift them out and into the closed. Make's unpacking a breeze.

Huggable Hangers from home shopping. Has anyone seen these in Walmart or other such stores.

I use the wire ones for the garment bag, because the plastic ones don't fit. I don't like to use the wire ones due to the rusting, so I'd like to see what these Huggable ones are.

:D

When DH and I cruised on Royal Caribbean this past summer I packed most of our clothes on hangers, right in our suitcases, then when we got into our cabin, I hung them right up. It saved a lot of time when I was unpacking our suitcases. I used cheap plastic or wire hangers, and when I packed to go home, I just left them hanging in the closet. I'm sure that our Disney cabin will have a lot more room and storage/closet space, but there will be 4 of us this time, so I plan on doing the same thing. All shirts, pants, and of course suits and dresses will get hung up. Socks, underwear, bathingsuits, etc. will go into the drawers.
