We're going to Disney World in a couple of days and we'll be on the dining plan, so we've got lunch and dinner covered. However, I'm pregnant and absolutely cannot go from dinner the night before all the way until lunch the next day without something to eat. Heck, making it from lunch to dinner without eating something is a stretch. We get a snack credit a day, but I really need something to fill in the gaps and want to avoid paying OOP if I can.

I'm currently planning on making a batch of kitchen sink cookies and/or trail mix breakfast cookies to pop here and there, but I'm afraid I'm going to get tired of them after a couple of days.

Does anyone have any ideas for other things, especially breakfast-y type things? I'd prefer stuff that's easy to hold (ex: trail mix cookies, rather than trail mix) and something that I can just grab on our way out of the room, rather than having to cook or prepare on property. I feel like this should be easy to figure out, but my mind keeps coming up blank. :confused3

Granola Bars(like Oatmeal Raisin), Big Fat Preztel Sticks, Crackerfuls, hahaha I started drawing a blank as well.

I know I could not eat my CS desert after all the food I ate with it, so get something that will stay pretty good in the parks and eat for breakfast in the room. You could even do that with your Table service meal.

We usually make a grocery run and have cereal, milk, fruit and juice. You can also have it delivered by netgrocer.

Nutrigrain/cereal bars are good, and Pop Tarts aren't the best for you, but they work too. Whole fruit? Oranges are probably too messy, but bananas or apples.

You could also use your snack credits to get something to save for breakfast the next day. We did that several times at Kringla Bakeri og Cafe in Norway at Epcot.

I know for me personally when I was pregnant (3 trips pregnant), I never could have made it through the day without paying OOP some. Of course, I really like to eat!!!

hope you have a great trip.

How about fruit and cheese? Small cans of fruit and dired fruit travel well and so do fresh apples and oranges. Hard cheese transports really well; you can freeze a blue ice thingy and pack it that way. If you room doesn't have a fridge, it will stay cool enough in an ice bucket.

If you like nuts, they are a good choice, too.

If you have a fridge, you can have fresh fruit, yogurt, and juice delivered.

Enjoy your trip! :)

For a proper sit down breakfast:
Our family loves Cheerios for breakfast, but that's not available on property. We typically pack Cheerios in a plastic container, along with a few plastic bowls and spoons in our suitcase. We would buy the milk, but you can get some with snack credits.

For breakfast on the run:
Use snack credits to get something from the Everything Pop breakfast menu, such as:
* Danish
* Coffee Crumb Cake
* Apple or Cherry Turnover
* Bagel with Cream Cheese
* Whole Fruit
* Fruit Cup
* Muffin
* Croissant
* Bannana Nut Bread
(I didn't spot yogurt on the online menu, but I'm sure it's available.)

When my wife was expecting, she carried around a stash of granola bars and 'grazed' whenever she was hungry. She also had lots of cravings for healthy food -- carrot sticks, salads, fruit. Those are readily available throughout the parks.

Have you seen Jif-to-go in the grocery store? They are little personal size cups of peanut butter. You could pack a bunch of those with things to dip in it-cut up apples, pretzels, or heck, if you're pregnant you just might want to dip anything in peanut butter! Plus they would give you a little protein boost to keep the energy up!

You might be able to stretch your meal credits to include a CS breakfast some mornings. SOME CS meals are really big enough to share. Cosmic Rays has a huge ribs platter that can be shared freeing up an extra credit for a CS breakfast platter that can also be shared!

For in room suggestion I say think protein.. cheese sticks, those pb cups someone mentioned, maybe some of the pre-boiled egg and combine with a good carb like a whole gran bagel or muffin and maybe a glass of milk. Will keep you going for a while:)

I know I have been bashed for this before, but we always bring a toaster and keep it in our room. We can have bagels and english muffins.

I ALWAYS unplug the toaster and wait for it to cool before we go to the parks. I have always wondered who gets the toaster after we check out.

Have a great trip!!

We stay at Pop. I bring a four cup compact coffee maker. (sorry, not trekking all the way to food court at 6am for coffee as we don't pay for preferred rooms) and I run hot water through the machine to make instant oatmeal. I then make coffee afterwards (coffee tasting oatmeal is not a hit LOL). Same thing, we unplug it before going to parks. It's no dangerous than running hair dryer as long as you are a responsible person.

I am much happier when I've had some protein for breakfast, so I would suggest some prepackaged peanut butter crackers. You can find some with whole grain crackers. Does QUaker still make those individually packaged oatmeal squares? Also those Larabars that are made with fruit and nuts. I also love the nut clusters by Mrs. Mays to carry around for inbetween meal emergencies. I remember when I was pregnant and I would suddenly be starving. If I told my husband I was hungry it usually meant he better have something in his pocket! Have a great trip!

I know everyone knows this already but we enjoy the quick stuff that we can grab and go like:

Pop tarts
Granola bars
mini raisin packs
individual small box cereals
gogurt yogurt tubes
Water bottles with the individual lemonade packs
and of course... Bananas, apples, and other fresh fruit...

There are numerous breakfast bars available...Kellogg has a ton. There are kiddie flavors and adult flavors. My kids enjoy the Fruit Loops bars.

You can also take along packets of instant oatmeal, cream of wheat, etc, that you can make with the hot water from your coffee pot. Take along powdered milk if you like that in your hot cereal.

They have fruit "parfait" in individual containers in the fruit aisle. It doesn't have to be refrigerated.

You might take along some tortillas and individual containers of peanut butter. If you like dried fruit, take some of that, too. You can make peanut butter roll-ups to take along.

If you like something sweeter, take boxes of Little Debbie rolls. Walmart carries similar products now. The buttermilk breakfast bars travel well.

I don't know how you're traveling, but my family flies Southwest. We can get 7 days of clothing in just 2 suitcases, so we take a small pilot's case full of breakfast foods and snacks.

My go to is peanut butter. I love a peanut butter sandwich or peanut butter crackers for a quick packable breakfast. You can pack it in a plastic container in your luggage and eat it in your room before you leave and then grab a milk once you get to the parks.

We get yogurt, fruit and bagels delivered from Garden Grocer along with water, milk and cheese sticks.

Applesauce cups/pouches
Crackers with Peanut butter (Ritz Bits) or Cheese (I don't like them, but you might)
cereal - I pack a box of Cheerios

I know I have been bashed for this before, but we always bring a toaster and keep it in our room. We can have bagels and english muffins.

I would think a toaster would be a lot less of a fire hazard than flat irons or curling irons.

gronila bars, peanut butter crackers, dry cereal (those little boxes), pop tarts, cereal bars, muffins, doughnuts, make some banana bread, slice it then wrap each one in saran wrap, fruit, fruit cups, oatmeal cookies, peanut butter chocolate chip oatmeal cookies.

We stay at value resorts, so no fridge, and we always eat in the room or on the way to the bus. I pack things like cereal, granola bars, bagels, fruit, bread, crackers, pop tarts, and individual cups of peanut butter. We add cream cheese or jelly from the food court, maybe some milk (usually to drink...my kids will eat cereal dry out of a baggie for breakfast or a snack), and that works well for us.

Thank you all so much for your suggestions! I've gotten a lot of great ideas from this thread and I really appreciate the help! :)
