Bring Own Bedding

OK back on topic. :thumbsup2

WDW is what 40 years old, boy that's really old. I hate living in walls that are maybe that old.

So here is my plan. Now this will only work at the Contemporary Resort or maybe the Poly.

A well informed CM told me that at the CR, when they want to do a complete remodel, they can remove and replace all the rooms in one day to minimize down time. They just slide out like a drawer.

Well if that's the case, I'm bringing my own complete room, bed, bathroom with my tooth brushes already in their holders, dressers with all my clothes already in the drawers(no unpacking :thumbsup2), shoe holder with all my toiletries already on the door, the whole nine yards.

So where can download the PDF for these room plans.

Also if I check in early can I leave my room with Bell Services and then they will text me when its installed? I'm also assuming that the concierge will arrange for the crane and all the hookups.

Also I'm not sure if I'm driving my big rig with the room in tow or flying.

If I'm flying is there anywhere on property I can arrange for a LAPES delivery of my room, maybe the old airstrip? If you are unfamiliar with LAPES, here is a short video.

TIA

I know that most of this is a joke (and a funny one I might add :lmao:) but I hope you realize that the rooms sliding out of the CR is an urban legend. If you already knew that then sorry for interupting your joke...

Well, that was the plan... But a bus driver told me the building has settled to the point that the room modules actually can't be removed :(. Now, that's the CR; it might be possible to swap out a new room at the Polynesian, or the OP could time their trip to be the very first guests in an Art of Animation room...

Yea I knew.

I must admit it took me a little bit to realize this was a joke. There are no questions or expectations that surprise me anymore. Just go on vacation people!

Okay, back off the topic, I have seen this claim about 200 times and this is the very first time I am correcting it....won't be my last. This claim is completely false...well...actually a bit of truth gone completely wrong over the years.

The actual guest rooms at CR WERE (in fact) modular boxes. However, the modular boxes were put in place, permanently locked in and then utilities and furnishing were added, making it impossible to remove the modular boxes. Even LESS likely is that they could be removed and replaced in one day...absolutely ridiculous to even think this could be true...could you imagine the undertaking and logistics from a construction standpoint???? Anyway, there is absolutely NO truth to this myth.

A, yea it was part of the joke. ;)

I 2nd the "thinking that it's weird to bring my own pillows"...but I do!! Won't be for the honeymoon though, since luggage cost as much as the darn flights now!!!

Well, now you have my interest piqued about this "he-who-shall-not-be-named" person's posts, so I'm going to have to waste more time searching for some for entertainment!

It will be fun.

If you do a search you will find 60% of the posts TD was a part of are now closed.

Well I for one see no problem bringing your own bedding. After all, with the reduction in monorail hours I will be bringing my own monorail and driver.

I wish there was a "like" button on here.

If anyone is bringing their own track, I would like it to swing past POP and a Starbucks.

Okay, chilled rice balls in the park led me here to mobile mattresses...now I simply HAVE TO get a link to the animatronic-phobia thread!
