Bring Own Bedding

Is it OK to bring our own bedding? We are staying at Caribbean Beach in Oct and will be driving . My wife has a bad back and really is only comfortable in our own bed. Seriously if she sleeps in a hotel bed or we go to visit friends sometimes she has trouble getting around for a few days because the mattress hurts her. Anyway we were wondering if we could bring our own mattress and take theirs off and lean it against the wall or have them remove it from the room until we check out? Anyone else ever done this?

Thanks

:sad2:I doubt Disney would want any other mattress in the room that little creatures could be living in it. (Not that there is but there could be.) Not to mention when you go to leave the will think you are stealing a mattress.

That just seems like a crazy unrealistic idea.

Interesing 2 post.

Sure, we've done it lots of times. I can't sit on hotel toilets, so I bring my own of that as well. I'm thinking this year I may bring my own carpet too...I hate walking on hotel carpet.

OK I'll bite. Assuming you were actually serious??????:confused3

May I suggest an alternative? The Swan and Dolphin have Heavenly Beds. Perhaps your wife could sleep on one of those.

If not, and her back is that bad, then perhaps travelling is just not feasible for her.

Ditto. We also bring our own full-size refrigerator, those mini-fridges just don't cut it.

If it is possible, maybe try Fort Wilderness. Sure, you are camping in a tent or RV and will probably be cooking a lot of your meals, but if her back is that bad, it may be the only option. On the bright side, you'll save even more money.

I just don't think bringing your own mattress would be doable. Have you thought about getting a memory foam mattress pad. We got one for DS's mattress a few years ago and it helped quite a bit. Every morning you could take if off the bed, fold it up, and store it in the closet area.

DH has back problems too and hates the beds at WDW (or really any hotel). He has found out that it's just something he has to deal with if he's going to travel.

I doubt the hotel would allow it due to possible bedbug issues, plus how are you going to get it from your car to possibly a 2nd floor room?

I always bring a dishwasher for my 8 year old refillable mugs.

I thought this was going to be one of those threads about bringing your own sheets, not about replacing the entire mattress.

I honestly don't think they will let you bring your own mattress.

I thought so too.

And I thought my SIL was nuts for bringing her own bedding. This just takes that to a whole new level.

I get what you're saying OP but I think the answer is a definitive no. I think the mattress PAD solution was a great one, as was the mention of the beds at the Swolphin. Good luck!

This should go over to the disabilities boards. There should be answer in contacting Disney directly. Your wife would need a doctor's medical note and then probably something that says the mattress has been inspected for certain things.

No, I have never heard of anyone doing this and yes, Disney is great with medical issues but you are getting slammed here and the only way to solve it is to just get the mods to close this down and go over to the disabilities board. I trust the OP is monitoring these responses and will take the action necessary. If not, thanks for stopping by here and I wish you good luck.
