Bring on the "Christmas Bash" or whatever they're going to call it! - UPDATE: Disney announced 7/12 - VERY MERRIEST! #Halfwaytotheholidays

I’m pretty upset. We couldn’t do Halloween because of the late hours and now we will most likely be missing Christmas.

I'm hoping the "and so much more" will be the parade that hasn't been announced yet. I noticed that for the Boo Bash announcement it included the mention of special cavalcade. Keeping my fingers crossed. Really want the snow and character meet and greets too. Stage show? Needless to say, I miss entertainment.

I wonder if the fireworks will be special to the event, or at 9pm and regular park guests can stay and watch too?

My reading of it implies special to the event

From the event page on the Disney World website:
Disney Very Merriest After Hours will take place from 9:00 PM to 1:00 AM on select nights, from November 8 through December 21, 2021. Tickets will go on sale next month, so continue to check for updates. Event tickets will grant admission to Magic Kingdom park as early as 7:00 PM, giving you time to enjoy even more of your park favorites before the event begins. These dated event tickets do not require an additional day theme park ticket or Disney Park Pass theme park reservation.

Event Highlights
Don’t miss this merriest of evenings, made merrier still when shared with those who brighten your holidays. Highlights include:

  • Character sightings
  • Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show
  • After-hours access to Magic Kingdom park and less time waiting in line for popular attractions
  • Holiday-themed attraction overlays and Cinderella Castle projections
  • Snowfall on Main Street, U.S.A.
  • Holiday treats, ice cream, popcorn and bottled beverages—all included with the cost of admission
  • Themed food and beverages available for purchase
  • Holiday-themed Disney PhotoPass photo opportunities (photos available for purchase)
  • Special lighting, music and more!

Yes, but didn’t the old party talk about Elsa lighting up the castle, and that happened during regular park hours? I’m just curious if they will then not do park fireworks on after hours nights then? If so, might still make MK less busy during the day on after hours nights then.

It will be interesting to see if they have 2 sets of fireworks?
1 at 8 for the normal guests and then the other one for the AH event or if the first one doesn't happen.
Not too surprising, sounds very similar to the Halloween AH event.

I really would like to do this event since I've never been able to do a Christmas party, I hope my almost 7 year old will be able to stay up that late to make it worthwhile for her.

Looks fun to me.

They're in an impossible situation with the dates. Before, people complained there were too many parties from November to December and their MK time was disrupted because of them. Now they shorten the event timeframe and people want it to start earlier in the year! Impossible to please everyone.

The blog says "Tickets will go on sale next month, with an early purchase window available to guests of select Walt Disney World Resort hotels."

Do we think that means early for DVC only or more like ANY/ALL resort guests?
What was the early sale for the Boo Bash? I can't remember

thanks!

It will probably be like the Boo event. It states fireworks will be let off at the start of the event on that info page.

Will they have the "regular" 50th anniversary fireworks (whatever they're starting October 1st) on nights without a Christmas party event? I'll be there in December and I'd really like to see both! :)

I just asked this question on another thread and apparently those staying on a on-site Disney resort could call in and get tickets a week prior and then when it open to the general public you could order them online...

I thought the event would be too late for my kids but if they really will let people in at 7 it might be something to consider tacking onto our USO/IOA trip. Granted, with MNSSHP my kids have never lasted past 10pm, but my eldest might be able to enjoy some rides even once the little one conks out in the stroller. But of course, the regular day guests will be there until 9, and in my experience with MNSSHP it was during the overlap hours when lines were at their longest. It will probably sell out to the deluxe resort guests so I won't have to worry about it either way :) This is great for families with teenagers, but it looks like the mouse really won't be getting any of our money this year apart from Disney+.
