Bring on the "Christmas Bash" or whatever they're going to call it! - UPDATE: Disney announced 7/12 - VERY MERRIEST! #Halfwaytotheholidays

I see people are excited about this event. Wish I were, but with no parade, and I assume a lot more money, this is a hard no for me.

I feel like it’s going to be like any other after hours events from before the whole shutdown happened, which never included parades. It’s definitely different from the party and will be more expensive but the price of after hours events have always been high. I just hope the crowds are as low as they have been at the other after hours events I’ve done. That’ll be the biggest downfall for me. I think it’s nice they added characters and extra fireworks, too.

We will be there Nov 3rd - 8th and I’m bummed that we will miss the event. We were there in ’19 and loved it. I am hoping the decorations will be up and we can see Christmas arrive.

I honestly think we will be priced out. We will arrive in Florida from the UK on December 19th, so could possibly do the last event. And the price normally goes up for the last few dates. That $500 ish for the 3 of us could be a fair chunk of our food budget.

We fly in from Ireland (hopefully) on 21st so I guess the decision is made for us. It was unlikely we would fully enjoy such a late event first day either I suppose!

Planning on going. I have a 2.5 day solo trip nov 28-30. I’m hoping to use the party for my MK time and get all 4 parks in without a hopper. I am hoping they show 50th fireworks and the Christmas fireworks. To me it makes sense they would. I personally think Disney was planning this change maybe without Covid. It allows folks to get full 50th things even if they are in mk on a “party” night.

Anyone want to speculate on dates the after hours will be offered? We're going to be there from Nov 8 - 13 and I don't really want to go on the first night but would like to try to fit it in somewhere. How soon after the Boo Bash announcement did we get actual dates offered?

I wonder what days of the week the Christmas bash will be on??!!!

Just my opinion..... I feel they will follow the schedule started with Boo Bash and have them every Tuesday and Friday. Then they can add Sundays in Dec. I don't think they want to take away from the 50th Celebration any more than that! I really don't think they will have as many Very Merriest as they did MVMCP.

You basically had the park to yourself for after hours and from what I'm seeing, a LOT of people have bought tix to boo bash. We won't know until after the first boo bash - but I'm pretty confident this is going to be packed.

ETA: I'll happily eat my words if August comes and Boo Bash is actually limited and amazing!

in 2019 these were the dates for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party:

589112

and your guess is as good as mine (since we never made it to an After Hours/Party event before) if they'll follow the same night "pattern" but I will say it looks like Boo Bash this year is following the same night "pattern" as the MNSSHP from 2019...

:confused3

Im super ready for them to come out with dates so I can start planning (more)!!

and I did a little snooping and with regards to the Boo Bash timeline so we can guesstimate on when we'll know more about the Merriest Christmas party, here is how Boo went down:

May 7th - announced the Boo Bash
June 2nd - prices were released

I'll need to keep snooping to find out when the tickets went on sale...please hold...

You are a great sleuth!!! I can't believe it was a month later though, geesh they really like to make us wait for details.

Yeah - I do NOT want to wait that long for this party!! Per the Disney website, it states that tickets will go on sale next month, which I'm hoping that means Aug 1st so they better hurry and announce the dates!!

We're considering going on 16 Dec if there is a party on that date. We'll be at WDW for a special event in our family and we'd planned on doing it on the 17th when we hit the MK on our first day in the parks - along with a "Capture Your Moment" photographer to take pictures of the event. Does anyone know if you can reserve a photographer during an after hours event? Having our special moment at night in the MK decorated for Christmas would make it extra special.

We have a poly reservation for December and we do plan to get tickets. I am going to go into this with an open mind (much like the Boo Bash). If it is great, then we will look into attending in future years. If it does not meet our expectations, then we will take a pass next time and enjoy the rest of WDW during the holiday season.

When we moved our original Universal trip from Jan to Nov I was really, REALLY hoping there would be a holiday party we could attend so we'd get some Disney in. Now that it's announced I'm nervous we won't be able to get tickets (we're there Nov 6-13), and here I thought a Universal trip would be less stressful than a Disney one!

So.....still sitting here (patiently) waiting for more news on the Merriest Christmas party..

maybe they'll throw us a nugget this week and give us the nights/parks it will be held???

Any guesses??

The party is only at Magic Kingdom. But yes, it would be nice to at least know the dates it will be held, and maybe a basic price range

Has anyone seen/read confirmed information from Disney that there will be two fireworks shows on event nights? Enchantment at or near park closing, plus the party fireworks later?

I've seen that posted, but I'm not sure it's officially from Disney yet. I don't remember them having two fireworks shows in one night before, but I could definitely be mistaken about that.

HA!! Im so worked up I was confusing the Merriest Christmas party and the Extra Hours they're offering...

since I'm waiting for BOTH so I can figure out my schedule!

:crazy2:

I have heard other post that they are expecting Disney to have 2 sets of fireworks, one for the park closing, and then again for the end of the Merriest Party but I haven't seen anything official come out.

I can't decide if Disney thinks we should just be happy that we're getting fireworks at all, much less twice on some nights!
