Bride-to-be's totally confusing PJ - Beach towel design =o)

HAHA we have a few infants already coming!

So do you guys have names picked out yet? You must be pretty excited!

I'm very excited. At this point our baby might be nameless until we take him/her home from the hospital. We can't seem to agree on anything lol. I am sure once we are nearing the deadline we will choose something!

ok, there's something i don't quite understand... if you decide to do the WDW wedding instead of DCL, why would you all still be going on the cruise? wouldn't that help costs and schedule (not having to rush to the boat after the wedding/reception)??? Maybe I missed something?:confused3

ya know, they don't let you take them home until you name them:rotfl:

they were talking on the radio this week..many people never change it..it becomes:
female (people pronounce "fa mally")

We once had a neighbor come home who didn't have a name for nearly a week! Maybe the rules have changed since - it was quite a few years ago or maybe the rules are done by where you live - not sure.

I am sure one of you will come up with something out of hte blue and it will be perfect! It will come to you.

DCLBrideSept2009 - If we do a castle wedding - we would all have breakfast then jump on the boat.

Wow, it looks like you have some really hard decisions to make. I would go for the cruise personally. The castle is lovely, but I think you are going to be so rushed if you do your ceremony there then head for the Wonder afterwards. There will be a tremendous amount of stress involved for both you and your guests.

Castaway is so beautiful. I would do that and then eat in Beach Blanket or Studio Sea as offered. I know these arent your ideal locations but I think you will find yourself so much more relaxed if you go this route.

You will have just gotten married and will be surrounded by people you love. As you know, the whole ship is beautiful and the experience will be unique. I think your guests would enjoy either location and I really think you would too if Palo can't work out.

:goodvibes:

I would hope they would wait but doesn't christmas come down on like Jan 1?

I was there this year from Jan 3rd-8th and most of the decorations were still up when we left. :goodvibes

Can't wait to hear more about your wedding! It's going to be fantastic either way!

Here in OH, you have to have all the paper work filled out with baby's name and handed in before they discharge you. It's been that way for at least 13 yrs here.

What does DFTW think of your plans? These are the same WDW people that pick you up for the Disney Magic Express 3 hours before a domestic flight!

What are you doing with all your guests bags? I know they do the Castle wedding at 8, so when will everyone have to have their bags ready to get transfered? Is everyone going to ride the bus in their wedding finery?

I think it might cause a lot of stress for your guests, especially those with the little kids.

Just my 2 cents....This is YOUR DAY! I would think that if you are fine having just a breakfast as a reception then why wouldn't the ship work. Beach Blanket or the other place is not that bad.

From a parent with 4 kids of different ages it would be a lot harder to get in the day before and could possbily be getting in late as it is and then get up early for an 8 wedding---especially if there is time change involved. They would have to get up really early to get everything ready and to the wedding on time. THink how tired they would be before the cruise and how cranky the little ones would be.

Go for the cruise since that is what you really wanted in the beginning--have an awesome time on the beach--have drinks for everyone and most of all--HAVE FUN!! This is your day if the family wants to take turns watching the kids that is fine--this is about you not them. They will know in advance and I promise it will work out. It would be a different story if you did not find out until you got there.

GOOD LUCK!!

It's at swan boat landing. you can't do it at the steps.

Ok so I have to sit down and figure out how to put pictures up at the bottom. I will try to work on it when I get home. I have been putting it off forever.

So DF and I had a long long talk last night. He says he is fine for the castle, even though its not exactly his first choice of the beach, he said he understands my wanting to be a princess and wants me to be happy. BUT he hates Swan Boat Landing. He said he refused to be married there. He said if we could do it on the castle steps, in front of the castle or even on the rose garden lawn he would be game. UGH. So more emails with question to our consultant. We completely ruled out getting married and having a reception the night before when everyone arrives and we also ruled out having a reception at disney after the cruise. We are both scared peoples flights may be delayed coming in and we figure not everyone will want to stay at disney after the cruise and we don't want to spend the money on another nights hotel room for everyone. So both of those are out.

So its down to these choices - if we can get kids into Palo we are going to stick with the original cruise beach wedding plan. Assuming we can't, then the castle is our next choice but only if we can have the ceremony some place other than Swan Boat Landing. That would also go hand in hand with the construction not being to major on that day. I am really hoping that option works out. If neither of those two options work then we are back to the drawing board. I am first going to wait and hear about the castle. Then I am going to start working on getting kids into palo.

Have you thought about holding the wedding at Disney and having everyone stay and offer a Tour of the World instead of the curise. Since it was a 4 day cruise. You could offer each day a park, and people could join you or not, but you'd show your favorite attractions, shows, and resturants? I honestly think kids would enjoy that more, but I can't do a crusie (there isn't enough for me to do, I'd be bored). Then your not rushed to get to the crusie and can still have the Castle wedding, it sounds like you want. Then if you and DFi want, you can go on the cruise for your honeymoon.

I hope the xmas decorations are all down by the 31st. Hopefully they should be. We asked our consultant about changing the location in the MK for the ceremony. I assume its prolly going to take another week to hear. So I am trying to be very patient.

We would end up staying at one of the hotels right next to the MK so that after the ceremony we would either do breakfast in the hotel or after breakfast go back to the hotel let everyone change and pack and then head to the boat. Because we are chartering our own bus (or limos - not sure yet) I think we have control over what time it leaves. I am sure we would with limos - I hope we would with a bus. We don't have to be at the boat until 4 at the lastest and its only a 45 min ride. So I think we have some time.

I have asked all of our immediate family and they think because it would be such an unusual ceremony that people wouldn't mind getting up early and braving the cold.

The whole reason for doing it is so that I can wear the wedding dress that I love so much that won't work for the beach. Its also a little too formal for beach blanket. I think if we did have dinner there I would feel the need to wear shorts and a t-shirt. Part of me really wants to be a princess.

So as I hear more I will post an update. Thanks everyone!

keep us posted! I'm sure everything will work out. You are getting married a couple of months before me so at least I can see your pics if you do the MK location. Very exciting!!!!!! :goodvibes

Won't you have to have a Disney organized reception though if you have the castle wedding to meet the food and beverage minimums? Just something to think about.

You do - food and beverage mins for breakfast I think are 75pp. But I figure instead of going all out with a reception we would just sort of do the bare bones not many flowers not a whole lot of decorations - just breakfast. I thought maybe we could serve mimosas but with pink grapefruit juice instead of OJ - that way they would be pink! Then just have other juices and coffee and tea. Has anyone ever mixed grapefruit juice and champagne - I think its kind of a weird combo - but I feel like it could work. One day I am going to have to try it.

The only thing that I haven't figured out - is that I think it would be weird to have a formal cake at breakfast. Mom mom suggested like a cake made of cinnabons or something. I don't know - its not exactly what I had in mind. I also have no clue as to where the reception would be. I figure I am not going to worry about any of it until I know for sure we are def doing the castle.

I just got an email from our consultant. He's so great! I really really like him. He said he was working on other locations in the MK. YAY!!!

Hopefully we will know if its possible next week. =0)

You can have it at the California Grill. At that time in the morning you can have the whole restaurant and not just the rooms. Then you would be overlooking the Magic Kingdom and castle and you won't need much decorations.

I think you need a cake but thats me. We had a morning ceremony and we had a cake... you need cake at a wedding lol. You can always choose carrot cake or lemon with cream cheese, lemon and raspberry etc. so that it isn't a very heavy flavor.

Thats such a good idea!!!! I hadn't thought about the california grill. Then we could just all stay at the contemp - it would be a lot cheaper then the GF. Thanks for the idea!!!

The only thing I had thought about which DF didn't really like was to try to have breakfast inside the castle. I figure that we can't rent it out - but thought that maybe they would just book one giant reservation for us and we could just do the normal breakfast dining as the park opens. I forget what breakfast there costs but I think we would end up paying double and hte other downside is that I am sure that there would be tons of other little princesses there - maybe its not such a good idea. Ok scrap that.

Perhaps the Cali grill is what we should do. The only negative is that we have to stick to their menu. If we were doing a reception reception I really wanted Mickey Beignets, strawberries and cream as a second course and then mickey waffles. Its my favorite disney breakfast. I wonder if they could make the exception.

Oh well I have to wait and see what the options are for the castle ceremony before I jump way ahead of myself.

I do know that no matter where we have the "reception" this is the cake topper I want -

Cslcake.jpg

If we do it on the cruise then ahead of time I would cover it with sticky stuff and brown sugar to make it look like a sand castle - then hopefully the pastry chef can just plop it on a regular butter cream cake or something (don't really care as long as it looks like a sand castle). If we do it at WDW I have no idea what the cake would look like or if I should keep the sand castle idea or just keep the castle white... decisions.

If you use California Grill, you have to use their menu..no if ands or buts. I loved the idea of California Grill, and were told we could only use their menus, and couldn't customize them. I thought I read with a Magic Kingdom ceremony you had to hold reception at the Grand Floridan or is there an exception for that?

Hopefully you'll hear if you can hold it somewhere else at Magic Kingdom
