My husband and I will be celebrating our 12th anniversary at disney in July. We went to disney for our honeymoon in 1992, but they did not have the bride and groom hats back then and didn't do anything out of their way as far as we can tell. I have been so impressed with how they go out of their way with little things for honeymooners now. We plan on making t-shirts with our wedding photo on them and the saying "Celebrating 12 magical years". Would it be inappropriate to wear the bride and groom hats that we never had the opportunity to wear? We love Disney and truly love each other and a proud of our 12 wonderful years (and 3 wonderful DSs)

Goodness no! I think it's a really cute idea!:earsgirl: :earsboy:

After all you'll be celebrating an anniversary.Anyway it's WDW you can wear whatever kind of funny hat you want to...you're on vacation!!! :jester: pirate: princess: :firefight :wizard:

I say go for it! DH and I only wore them for 1 day when we were on our honeymoon, cause we were afraid they would get ruined. I totally regret not wearing them more. I'm sure if we ever do a vow renewal or on a special anniversary like 5 or 10 years, we will wear them again.

WE have them and will be wearing them, except on the water rides at AK. We have never been, but I have a feeling that the magic will be there and you never know.

My husband and I wore them while we were disneymooning there this past January and had a great time. We only saw one or two other couples with them on. I think you should definitely wear them!! You'll be sure to gets tons of congrats and maybe even a freebie or two!! As a tip, make sure to bring bobby pins with you. I haven't met a single person who can get that bride hat to stay on their head without em... the groom hat seems to fit great though!!

Also, be sure to check out the pin carts, because they have some cute Anniversary pins.

Congratulations on your upcoming anniversary! My husband and I chose not to wear the bride and groom hats and that's the one thing I regret about our honeymoon. I say go for it and have a fantastic time!

I had the same question. It is good to see that everyone agrees that it is OK to wear the bride/groom ears on an anniversary trip. I am designing special pins for DH and I to wear. I want to get the bridal headband, but DH doesn't like to wear hats, so I guess he will just have our special pin. :earsgirl: :earsboy:

I wonder if you can order them ahead of time from the Christmas shop in Down town Disney. Do you put names on them or just bride and groom? I ordered Christmas hats with our names on them 2 years ago and on our way to Disney we stopped and picked them up. You have to pay for them but it was nice to have them all waiting for us.The address I wrote to was :

WDW.Days.of.Christmas@disney.com

Although we did not have ours personalized, it can be done. They have them on display in the back of the Christmas store.

Hey my3princes congratulations:

I went there 12 years ago (on my honemoon also) and I didn't get the hats either. Well I'm going this August, but I don't think I can get my wife to wear it. I think it's good luck when you honeymoon at Disney. Everyone thought I was crazy but most of them are divorced now (lol). Have a great second honeymoon (I know I will).

The best is yet to come.

Go Disney.

:Pinkbounc :bounce: going in August :bounce: :bounce: and I can't wait:Pinkbounc :bounce:

We'll be celebrating our 15th anniversary this August in WDW as well. I was going to get the bride and groom hats, but hubby will not wear the groom one

Maybe I'll just wear the bride one, and tell everyone I was left at the altar? (not to make fun of anyone who has had such a horrible expereience, but to torment my hubby...) :p

Anyways, I didn't know that there were anniversary pins :hyper:

I didn't know that there were anniversary pins

We didn't either until we looked and saw them on ebay. When we checked one of the pin trading sites, we found that they were released Aug. 2003. We haven't been to WDW since May 2003, so we will probably get one when we are there again this May.

I would have loved to wear them on our honeymoon at WDW 14 years ago. Don't think DH will go for it now. They have them in Epcot too at Mouseworks. The little boy who was our ring bearer 14 years ago is getting married next year and doing a Disney honeymoon. We plan to pick up Bride and Groom ears for them as a surprise when we are down in May. We'll have them personalized with their names and wedding date.

Congratulations on your anniversary! Be sure to have it noted on your reservation and all PS that you are celebrating your anniversary. Some magical things just might happen...:love2:

I would definitely wear them....my husband and I disneymooned without them in 2001, on account of the fact that the groom's hat was too small for hubby's big head! LOL!! Anyway, we were shocked at the amount of people who knew we were honeymooning anyway....based on things like my manicured nails!

You can get them thru disney's florist - that is what we are doing and they will deliver them to the hotel so that they will be there for us when we arrive. We were asked if we wanted anything put onto them - we didn't but maybe you could ask it to say __ anniversary? It never hurts to ask, right?

You can get them for mouseshoppe.com

I got the bride headband (soooo much nicer than the beanie, though twice as expensive $24 I think?) for my honeymoon in June.

Beware for the hubbies that don't wear their hats! I've heard numerous reports of CMs making fun of hubbies that aren't cool enough to wear the hat.

We received the anniversary pin last August from the concierge at Yacht Club. It is a very nice pin! I would love to wear the bride's hat. This summer we will celebrate 12 years of marriage. :teeth: But, I'd never be able to get my husband to wear the mickey hat. But I also really want to wear the bride's hat. Maybe I will...;)

My husband got them- he called Disney's main number and they gave him a website to buy them off.

We didnt get anything for free. Might have had a dessert or 2 for free, but had a package that uncluded meals. There were no rides that moved us ahead because we had the hat on. I will say that because I told them it was our honeymoon at California Grille they gave us the best window seat for the fireworks- but no hats needed for that. I had heard all sorts of stories before we left-like upgrades on airplanes, comped meals, getting moved ahead in long lines. I think I wore my hat 2 and half days out of 7- hubby wore his a lot. I have mixed feelings about them. When I see them, I do expect the wearers to be newlyweds. But then again, I got sick of being asked "so when was the big day" Im not really fond of talking to strangers. My new husband was in his glory and it made him smile everytime someone talked to him. And to think hes the shy one out of the 2 of us. I wanted to burn my hat. ;)

First I faught to keep the hat on my head, then the hat hurt, all those bobbypins to keep it on! Rollercoasters can be hard- I couldnt control my head on RnR to keep from the pins jamming in my head, there were too many pins to be able to remove it, if I did less it would just fall off. Whatever you decide, good luck and I hope you like it more than I did!
