Any one use the Tidy Cats Breeze litter system? What is your opinion on it? My two girls use clumping litter and covered dome boxes in our basement, and honestly I am so tired of them tracking litter everywhere. The boxes just get so disgusting too and I scoop everyday. My girls are also on premium wet food which has helped a lot, but the boxes are still gross. Considering a switch to the Breeze system, but it does seem a bit expensive at first glance.

I wish you were closer so I could just give you mine. The system itself is nice enough, but my cats did not like the pellets it uses. I kept the two systems side by side for a while, but when I finally removed the old litter box, the cats started going outside of the Breeze system.

I know a lot of people have had great success with this system. But in our case, my stubborn cats just did not like it at all.

Same thing happened to my mom as happened to the PP. The cats seemed fine with the Breeze until she actually removed the original litter box, then they starting relieving themselves all over the place.

Interesting.....I heard that can be a problem. My girls aren't real fussy about the litter box, so I am hoping that won't be a problem. They use whatever litter I give them with no problems and I just buy whatever is on sale. I know some cats can be very particular with that though.

Now food on the other hand, they are very fussy about....

My mom's cats aren't particular about litter either. they use whatever she gives them, and they used the Breeze just fine too until she took the old litter box away. Not trying to be argumentative. I HOPE it works for you because its a great idea!

Two words - Litter Robot. Life changing for cat owners!

For those of you who have cats who didn't use the Breeze in the end, call up Tidy Cats. They have an 800 number. I read other people say, and I spoke to Customer Service about a different problem several months ago. They gave refunds to people whose cats would not use the system. Or even ask for Tidy Cats coupons for the regular litter if you don't have the receipts. That's an awful lot of money to lose. :( The fact that they give refunds says a lot about the system not working too well. :(

As for the system: I've read varying reports. Some cats & owners love it and their cats adapted right away and use it. Others have cats with stinky poo and since the pellets are dry & waterproof, they really do not cover up the smells very well. :snooty: There really isn't a lot of pellets per bag, so if that's the problem or if you have a cat who likes to dig to China, then you have to add in an extra half a bag each time. Two bags are too much as the urine can't properly sift down. The bags are expensive to be using 1 1/2 bags.

Another problem people mentioned is that if your cat tends to pee in one spot over and over in the box, you will have to manually turn the pee pad around, so the other side can be used. If you don't the pee pad will overflow. The pee pads are also expensive. So you are paying for the pads, which you can go through quite a lot of, and you are paying for the pellets. There are puppy pads you can get which are cheaper, but then you have to cut them down to size.

Also, supposedly, the pads smell, pee-ew! when you open the tray & change them.

I, too am sick of the tracked litter all over my place. When Tidy Cats improved their clumping quality of the Scoopable, they made the granules even smaller. So now there's even more litter dust everywhere. :headache:

Add me to the list of cat owners that didn't like the Breeze system. I have 3 cats that aren't picky and only one used it occasionally. Once I ran out of the refill package I quit using it.

I use the Breeze system with my cats and have had mixed results. My youngest two cats adapted quickly and with no problems. My geezer cat started pooping on our floor, but I am working with my vet to determine if she may have some underlying health issues that is causing it. Because of her issues, I ended up putting back up one of our clay boxes alongside two Breeze boxes. Someone still uses the Breeze boxes occassionally, but it is apparent that all three cats prefer the clay.

From an owner's standpoint, I love the Breeze system and find that it is much cleaner and easier to clean up. It is more expensive, but in my opinion, it would be worth it if the cats don't have any issues using it.

By the way, I have our litter boxes set up in a walk-in closet that has a kitty door cut out of the side. This has worked well with helping to contain the smell and with keeping the litter mess out of sight.

I LOVE my breeze system. You have to follow the directions they give you to transition your cat. I scoop mine everyday. I do turn the tray after a few days and change the pad every week. The pad traps all of the urine odor and scooping is really easy. I change the whole thing about once a month. I LOVE no litter being tracked through the house. I have no basement and the litter box is by my back door. Before, I had litter all over. No more. I hope they don't ever discontinue it.

Our cat hated it. He walked in it once, and you could almost see his disgust as he turned and walked away. :lmao: We left it in the same area where his litterbox was, but he flat out refused to use it. We eventually gave it away.

I just use wood pellets for my litter box. there is no smell at all..until it is time to change it. I have 2 cats and I only have to dump it every 1-2 weeks... I do scoop the poop daily. I buy a 50 pound bag at the feed store for around $5 and it lasts me at least a month and I use it for my rabbit also

We have four cats and they all use the Breeze system with no problem. I do agree that 1 1/2 bags of litter are better. We have one that pees in the same spot all the time. We change the pads once a week and the litter every couple weeks. If we get low on litter we add a little more until we change it. Plus we do scoop it at least twice a day. We have too or the dog with help us out.

My DH was a little skeptical at first but now likes it. Since we have one that likes to fling, we have the odd pellet or two around the box and then our youngest plays hockey with these.

I'd like to know more about this. What's your experience with it?

I use regular clumping cat litter from the grocery store - no special litter.

I use regular trash bags from the grocery store - the plastic bags I bring groceries home in are just a tad too small but can certainly do in a pinch - I buy a bigger, thicker plastic to use in the compartment under the system. I like having a thicker plastic bag with handles that tie when it's time to change the bag.

The waste is sifted after the cat uses the box - it automatically rotates 7 minutes after the cat leaves. It's a motion-detector mechanism. The machine is round and it rotates so that clumps and solids are sifted out and the clean litter falls into a holding compartment, then is filtered back into the bottom of the system as the solids and clumps "tumble" into a holding bin while the whole system rotates. Go online and watch a demo.

I find that I change the bag every two or three days. I don't have an odor issue with that change schedule. All I have to do is take the bag out, tie the handles and throw away in my garbage. I put a new bag in and I'm done - no scooping ever and I probably wash the globe part every 2 or 3 months - the bin about the same unless I have been careless about the bag placement and something has leaked down in to the bin.

I love it and would cheerfully pay twice the retail for the luxury of never having to clean out a cat litter box again. We go away for the weekend (I don't like to leave my cats alone longer than two or three days) and they have a fresh box every time unless the electricity goes out!!!!

C'mon here....you're dealing with CATS!!! :lmao:

Our two bengals use it regularly, but ONLY as a peeing latrine. :confused3

We had multiple litterboxes, and slowly segued to two: the Breeze and the "regular" one. The younger cat loved Breeze from day one, but it took the older cat months to acclimate to peeing in the Breeze. (We'd pretty much given up on her accepting it, but since she's a hoser, it was worth the wait.)

So, I'd give it some time before removing the regular litter.
